ok, well if the release depends on if it will be distributed in Brazil or not then it seems like Spiral Trax really are having economic problems. The brazilian market can't be that big huh?

Hmm, I was under the impression that the Brazilian market was very big, compared to other countries.

Spiral Trax is very smart. It is hard to find their music online before it is released. I imagine they hold on to their stuff really tight before the release. And if you release in some markets at one time, and then other markets at a later time, sales will be worse than if you release everywhere at the same time. MP3s spread very fast, and all the people in the later markets would have the album before they were able to purchase it. Not good for sales....

Just my guess.

Saikopod good news...¡¡¡

Thanks Honguito, first time I know of this.

I just hope they dont water down their inspiration like I felt happened with the "phutures &Options" release...

I have been only-so far- attracted by the Magnetic force vibes from that one. Most of the rest of that work is spoiled by the odd intruding phrase/vocal sample... Actually I remmember discarding tracks 1 to 5 just for that...As a Dj I can not elevate the dancer's flight with those rather low messages.

Where are enlightening or surprising messages like "we have not scratched the surface of what the mind can do"?...ok, I agree the "cycles are boring and spirals are fun" is a great concept, but it is quite alone...

What happend with the simply amazing basslines or the so-rare funkiness mixed with highPsychedelia of "the Great Unknown" CD?. Or the deep melodies and complex sounds of the KBox Dragon Tales? or the DIMENSIONs of the "Deadlines EP" biiig track concepts?.

New futures? wellcome...but I sense the basslines were gone just because they were compiting with the frequencies taken over by the STUPID KICK DRUM, a boring trend made popular by the Balearic epicentre...

Las week I measured some recent tracks by other Trance artists and they mostly were peaking at 65Hz with extension of the sound from kicks higher than 1000Hz ¡¡¡...no wonder how they sound:

FFFFFirstly, out of tune(tracks are composed at different keys but kick drums stay fixed at 62Hz). The idea is using most of the sound system physical efficiencies, at the price or composition.

SSSSSecondly, boring, boring, boring because this means basslines are then just one same note: C2 ...or they try to fool us adding basslines on top that are really middlines instead(like midkeyboard lines or flute lines for better example).

TTTTThirdly, Yes the overall presence of sound is louder this way, but it also makes a Ple, Ple, Ple sound("e" like the "magnetic" spelling) instead of Bum Bum Bum.

And I wont comment about dirty hihats(tipically to achieve the same higher perceived volume, but specially in this freqs, at the expense of sutility, delicay, spacing,etc,etc...). It comes from the same sound mastering school that wronged the kick drums.

Which by the way is going to be dated quite soon; not only the best sound engineers like Bob Katz, has openly denounced it his recent book (aclaimed at reference SOS media), but also people is getting their ears and minds tired of the hearing/dancing experience quite soon, just because this shortsighted trend...

Also with the advent of better sounding sound systems, MORE POTENT IN THEMSELVES already coming out, the volume is available for more dynamic and clean recordings and it is not important to achieve a so insta-high averaged volumen at the recording process which is what this whole silly trend aims at.

Deedrah went tragically down this way(havent heard the last album) at Reload and Synthetic releases and also Antidote in their second album.

I just hope the wizardy variedly demonstrated by Saikopod/Koxbox/Psychopod/Shrihari/Overlords that I dearly love, finds a high sound track this time, whatever the music styles they choose.

If I say this is because I love this music and artists... just hope we are somehow sintonizing some same freqs ...

Upps.

i just noticed the soikosounds/saikopod mistake...

Well, I can just laugh at how life helps me to come out with this rants...

Anyway someone could just make something of these words, sunconciously...or not.

And yes i just hope HuxFlux is really experimenting with the caves of Know...

ooooOOOhhh, I just cant get rid of that track(sample-cleared) at my set.

The other day I realized how well it shows different sizes at sound(plus many other qualities to it), how it sounds like friendly alien talks and then a Giant comes closer and gifts his message into the dancefloor and later it all goes underwater...simply brilliant...

Who said progressive sounds couldnt be fully psychedelic...and Funky at the same time?

When are we gonna learn?

What????

Funkyness is...

Well, goand take a listen to Voodoo caribean trance...very deep and VERY funky...

Actually, what is happening is that a moooving bassline usually moves your legs or belly, hips... your enerrgy and earth centers...which IMO give sustent or ground to deeper dances.

Stiff?? who is stiff? the problem might be here that some "isolate between dimensions" themselves.

A few time ago I was very gladly surprised to spot in the dancefloor a deep trancer with a shirt with the legend "GROOVE POLICE"...

He was sort of approaching music and some trancers with a challenging attitude and his feet were grooving in a deep and funky way ...and you could tell he was over 60 years old, with his gray hair and he was totally fit and tranced for many hours.... that is what I call a well grounded trancedance(from there on you can fly to the stars -if the rest is provided-).

He made the connection from the sixties and you know what?...

most of the music or the trancers didnt pass the groove test, they moved dully and with no funkiness, not alive in that energy side...

when are we gonna learn?
