Guest Duodenum Posted November 24, 2003 Posted November 24, 2003 hi so i've started ripping my audio CDs to MP3 for use with Traktor DJ. anyone have experience with this? ideally, i could have a laptop and CD deck that i could carry to parties, and also a CD wallet as backup. i've been using exact audio copy and the newest lame to rip the MP3s at VBR 192, which has a max rate of 320. so far, the results sound *really* good. i'm just wondering how they'll sound LOUD. can anyone tell me if MP3 can be encoded well enough to be played out, or should i stick with space-hogging WAV files? i tried posting this on Isratrance, but it was deleted for some reason?? traveller Posted November 24, 2003 Posted November 24, 2003 i'd go for ogg vorbis @ 320 kbps but that's just me.. Quote
Guest Psionic Posted November 24, 2003 Posted November 24, 2003 They do sound excellent when played through trackor on a rersonable sized PA-quality is still up there for sure. Quote
Guest rx7style Posted November 26, 2003 Posted November 26, 2003 OGG sounds hollow to me. I think (unless you tinker with it) it's lowpass filters aren't set optimally. Use the newest lame and use preset INSANE. Quote
