gimmisyra
Hi, I need some help. I'm looking for some nice Dark Progressive Psytrance, I think that is the genre. An example, at 0:40 you will hear what kind of sound/beat I'm looking for: Do you know any great tracks with that kind of beat, what genre is that? Thanks! Thanks! yes, that's indeed dark progressive, but (at least imho) you've already found the king of the genre with onionbrain. but there's some crossover with the minimal psytrance/psytek stuff. you should definitely check out the hypogeo album (and of course the whole zenon records discography) and you might also find something you like in the pool of minimalistic stuff from around 2001 like for instance krumelur - minimal animal. Drew05
this is my favourite style of psy check out RadioActive Cake and his Glitchy Tonic roster, lots of free and pay what you want releases http://www.glitchytonicrecords.com/ Other labels worth checking are Cosmic Conspiracy Records, and Uroborus (onionbrain's label) Excellent psygressive blog run by Sigil with regular updates http://www.psygressivetrance.blogspot.de/ http://www.ektoplazm.com/style/zenonesque

Drew05
^ Hypogeo is a great producer, definitely a leader with this sound this is his set from BOOM a few years ago: https://soundcloud.com/hypogeo/boomfestival2012
gimmisyra
Thanks for all replies! I like Hyogeo and Vibrasphere as well as Barby and Ectima that was not mentioned here. All good Dark and Progressive but sometimes a little bit to fast for my mood and I need a certain beat that makes me feel really dark but I will start a new thread for that. ...you might also find something you like in the pool of minimalistic stuff from around 2001 like for instance krumelur - minimal animal. That one strongly reminded me of this couple of years older track: Thanks ya'll!
sickdogs
Sensient's latest album was good too.
Drew05
^ definitely worth checking, i've listened to Sensient for years and I feel like the latest album was the best yet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZEWBVTJUDc standout track
healium
Most everything by Beat Bizarre is amazing - all 4 of their albums are stellar - they have a great dark vibe though it's combined with a dancy groovyness... Sensient is also really awesome - not as good for the dance floor as Beat Bizarre but great for listening.. This track by Beat Bizarre is a fine example of their dark and groovy style.. This one too - a more melodic example - the melodic rhythm that sets in around 3:00 is so killer:
healium
Phony Orphants have some great dark progressive also - I like their first album "Symphony" the most.. "Dark disco" is how I've heard their style described on that album - I feel that vibe.. Anyhow, here's a compilation track that I think it pretty killer:
