radi6404
So Orbital is a really great band and really shows what melodic electronica can be. The tack "The Girl with the sun in her head" is really a special track and has a very strong atmosphere and truly incredible melody. The atmosphere is somehow melancholic but not really in a sad way, it is a bit like you are reaching your plan or something. there are other tracks by Orbital that sound similar but I can`t remember their names right now. The style of Oribtal is psychedelic and really electronic, are there similar artists that produce such tracks full of melody?

Mergi
The Progressive House scene of the 90s isn't too much appreciated but the recommendations above are all valid. I actually have Speedy J - G-Spot and can warmly recommend it, acidic progressive downtempo contemplative stuff that! Fluke, as mentioned above, is also very much overlooked. Remember boys and girls, fluke did the track Zion for The Matrix. Here's a recommendation from me... I have the Wipeout connection as a backup if anyone questions me. Fluke did tracks to it and so did Sasha & Orbital and in the end they're all progressive house.
psytones
^ Really a beautiful track, especiallty the beginning. Thanks for sharing it! Am having a nice weedile moment right now to it's sonic fusioning.I miss WipeOut A suggestion for the topic: Burial is one of those "UK quality electronic music not to be missed" alongside the Brstol and not producers, like Massive Attack, Orbital, Underworld, Skinny, Fluke, Tricky, Roni Size, Leftfield , , http://www.discogs.com/artist/Burial Not so progressive'n (trancy) ambient though, like Union Jack's http://www.discogs.com/UnionJack-There-Will-Be-No-Armageddon/release/42861
desysko
The Xpander EP is amazing. I'm a fan of all the songs but my favorite is probably Baja. It is so relaxing. Nujabes is also nice. My favorite song from him is probably Aruarian Dance.
the goa constrictor
I don't really like to BSP on here, but I am a deep lover of Orbital and "The Girl with the Sun in her Hair" as well. I made a non-psy mix many many years ago with this track and some other melodic techno n electronica. If you are in the mood for it, give it a listen... http://goaconstrictor.com/audio/good-morning.mp3 (track list and such: http://goaconstrictor.com/music/good-morning-to-you/ ) Other good artists are Fuzzion, Fun Toy, Mr Sakitumi, Dank. Maybe Vishnudata, Blue Planet Corporation?
