abasio
Hi everyone, I have been way from the internet for a while and I have found myself lost in a see of great, ok and crappy releases without much idea what to sift through. I like my trance aggressive and my chill chilled. This year I've heard little but I liked the Sienis album on Ektoplazm and a few years ago I found Tales of the coinspinner by easily embarrassed and I'm still loving that. I enjoyed Miktek, 36 and Sync24 but haven't kept up with much else. Any ideas from the year, or any year actually, I'll be very happy to hear something new. Cheers Abasio
IronSun
As far as aggressive goes, I'd really recommend to check out the first VA from Anjuna Records, Tribal Encore. It has some mad acidic unreleased oldschool stompers. http://www.discogs.com/Various-Tribal-Encore/release/4633647 As far as newer Psytrance goes, I'd recommend the third album by Psilocybian, Dreamtime. http://www.discogs.com/Psilocybian-Dreamtime/release/5005176 Concerning the Chill-Out, Globular's latest is a great free album, as well as E-Mantra's third Psychill album: http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/globular-magnitudes-of-order http://www.discogs.com/E-Mantra-The-Hermits-Sanctuary/release/4486183 Good to have you back Abasio
abasio
Thanks Iron Sun, it is nice to be back. I'll try and check out these recommendations after work.
Mergi
I'm gonna have to second that Miktek album from 2013... always enjoy finding people who actually like the stuff oneself enjoy! (highlite from 2013) Sugizo - Vesica Pisces, was and is a nice surprise... he's also the new sidekick to master otto the barbarian! (hgihlite from 2012) Loumuhappo - Pallit Ja Sielu, shit mad... as it should be (highlite way back sometime 2010) Squarefeet - Flat Foot I'd suggest you have a look at the juno reactor remix albums, I enjoyed most of the remixes on there. ptn
http://www.discogs.com/Psilocybian-Dreamtime/release/5005176 Concerning the Chill-Out, Globular's latest is a great free album, as well as E-Mantra's third Psychill album: I second that, whole Globular's music is my '2013 discovery. Veracohr
Try BlackStarFinale - Auryn, from Ektoplazm.
desysko
I recommend Algae Bloom - The Blossom (you can get it at ektoplazm). I'm not sure about anyone else, but this album was quite refreshing to listen to. Especially Stop Thinking, what a great track.
Anoebis
if you like your trance agressive... Check the new Filteria! Much more acidic/agressive as before! On the chilled side... Connect.Ohm was my biggest love last 2 years, also the latest Akshan is beautiful (but downtempo, not ambient) As I know you are into soundscapes as well... latest few Mathias Grassow releases were TOP NOTCH
desysko
Ya, Akshan's new album was really nice, had to get the cd and glad I did.

advance
Great. Abasio, let me know what you recommend after you "process" the new music... I've been disconnected ever since the end of 2010, when I went for two years in Latin America.. Haven't reconnected since.

The new Filteria is really cool (especially Life Never Sleeps), and Akshan is nice too (both albums actually, his debut was quite strong as well). If you haven't already checked Connect.Ohm then you're in for a treat! Ow and don't forget VA - Phoenix from Zion604, definitely one of the best comps of this year! Ormion
Nimon-Drowning In Good Intentions (Beatless ambient, very peaceful, some tracks have noise elements). enCAPSULAte-Fetal Position (Capsula's project. Psychedelic and melodic). Ben Lukas Boysen-Gravity (Ambient/neo-classical). E-Mantra-The Hermit's Sanctuary (E-Mantra's most chilled album). Caul-The Long Dust (Darker ambient, but not too dark). Solar Fields-Origin #2 (You know his stuff). Circular-Radiating Perpetual Light (Not the Ultimae Circular. Dark ambient). Karsten Pflum-Sleepwald (Abstract, dark ambient). Ex Confusion-With Love (Peaceful, melodic, beatless ambient. Possibly the best ambient album I've ever heard). V/A-Oxycanta III (Ultimae style). V/A-Superluminal (Downtempo and ambient stuff. Nice one). 2Minds-Wave Shell (First cd is Infected Mushroom style with slower bpm, second cd is Shpongle style ambient). V/A-Misterika Festival-Tree Of The Life (First cd is forest-y, suomi-y style, second cd is dub ambient).
Drosophila
If you haven't already checked Connect.Ohm then you're in for a treat! Hell yeah... one of the best Ultimae releases in the last couple of years! Here is some more downtempo to try out: Minilogue - Blomma (Tech/ambient) E-Mantra - The Hermit's Sanctuary (Goambient) Seamoon - Expression Of The Moment (Goambient) (2012) And some upbeat banging releases: Mind Rewind 2 - Past Forward VA - Instrumentarium (Chronicle Of Mystery Records) and btw... don't let the cover fool you, it is quality stuff! A bit freaky from to time though https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcgioL8oUzI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFNZ2lQQdYg
Paul Eye
Kurbeats - Folktronica. I'd have no problem giving this the "album of the year" award.
healium
The new Hedonix album "Guerrilla Ontology" is fantastic - this is semi-dark psytrance style - very psychedelic, no cheese, but also very catchy and great rhythms.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezeB8hTuhaw
