Richpa Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 ''Hidria Spacefolk is a Finnish folk-influenced progressive / psychedelic rock band consisting of Kimmo Dammert (bass), Mikko Happo (guitars), Teemu Kilponen (drums), Janne Lounatvuori (keyboards), and Sami Wirkkala (guitars). The group’s space rock sound is often compared to Kingston Wall and Ozric Tentacles. The band describes their music style as Astro-Beat. They use many different instruments such as cello, violin, flute, didgeridoo, marimba, mandolin, sitar and vibraphone. '' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBfG-tMzyoE Quote
Oopie Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 They're good and worth checking out, seen them live once. Quote
Shpongled247 Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Yup really good what i would call Sci Fi kind of psychedelic prog Quite good voyaging music! Not sure i like them as much as Ozric but still they are up there. Quote
Paul Eye Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Seen them live several times over the years, unfortunately not after the release of Astronautica My personal favourite: Quite good voyaging music! I'd say they're more straightforward and less synth/ambient trickery oriented than the Ozrics, not really "voyaging" music per se but a burst of pure energy (especially live). Quote
