radi6404 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 So this label is obviously formed by Youth and it is a great label. I reviewed all albums released under that label and it is mostly ambient and dub and it is very clasical music for sure. In my opinion and in my taste it is one masterpeace after the other that is lying on those albums. Youth has contributed a lot there and has own songs, remixes with the Orb und other collaborations. Many other artists in that style are present on those compilations aswell, which is why I am wondering how this label is not discussed a lot on this forum. The style of youth and the artists on this album in my opinion is highly intelligent, old, nostalgic and geniune. The tracks tell a story for me and many of them have that old and nostalgic sound that I like so much, even if the songs are written only a few years ago. I think with Liquid Sound Design we have a label there, of which all 42 albums would get a rating no worse than 3,5. Quote
abasio Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 LSD has been discussed a lot, a it should have been as it is an excellent label. one of the few I have completed in my collection Search any old chillout thread, psydub recommendations thread, or just do a search for Liquid Sound Design. I listened to Abakus - That Much Closer to the Sun (Fantastic) Yesterday had me listening to Wider Horizons (Underated at the time but a brilliant comp) Last week I listened to Butterfly Dawn (best dub comp ever) and Tripswitch - Circuit Breaker (still an all time favourite) LSD along with Flying Rhino Freestyle, Ultimae and DataObscura is one of my favourite downbeat labels. Shame they've not released anything really since Scared Sacred in 2011 and before that it was few and far between When we had Dragonfly + LSD and Flying Rhino Records and Flying Rhino Freestyle in full pelt it was good times Quote
abasio Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 I cannot beleive that you didn't even reply to the only reply in your thread. It's pretty insulting after the effort I put in to my post just to be completely ignored. Did you listen to the albums I mentioned at all? Did you not get the same feelings? Did you at least try flying rhino freestyle??? Quote
radi6404 Posted January 20, 2014 Author Posted January 20, 2014 Well, I am very busy this time and somehow don`t have a lot of interest in music, I don`t know why. That is why I havn´t tried your recommendations yet but I will give them a try when I feel up to it. I am sorry for not responding to your thread but I am also a bit dissapointed others did not look at the thread aswell. Quote
abasio Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Don't worry, I was just kidding. Just be glad that great music exists. Not everyone else has to enjoy it. LSD though is pretty accessible for non electronic fans though Quote
psybient.org Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 that's a pitty they dpn't release more. (last release at 2011) they had excellent music from Kuba, Abakus, Ketama, Celtic Cross, Tripswitch! Quote
radi6404 Posted January 20, 2014 Author Posted January 20, 2014 And let´s not forget the music of the founder of this label, the genius Youth. In my opinion he is one of the most respectable musicians when it comes to storytelling goa trance and ambient that has this warm and old dragonfly sound. Quote
