Before Darkpsy style officially came up, which release was the darkest ?

not sure which year Darkpsy came up (officially) i guess when the 1st Parasense tracks came out? (Ormion can probably tell us you seem to be the specialist here )

 

anyway i was wondering which was the darkest release before that, and hmm (apart from the obvious Xenomorph album) Dark Soho - Sunspot is dark as hell !! The album title is actually funny.

Especially tracks "Tales of tragedy" "Sleepwalking" and the famous ending track "Uine Saracomm" (or "Gothic prayer" never sure of that one) these tracks are dark as hell !

 

Today is rainy in my town and that was a joy to re listen to this

Astronomix has some pretty dark tracks, some released, some not but definitely already doing dark psytrance (in a great way) back in 97-99.

LFOIDS also had a great dark track but that was never released (hopefully though, will be)

and not just dark, but also twisted sounds like is key in much of the darker stuff that came much later, especially in forest trance.

well I finally got my hands on this release and for dark PSY - this one nailed it early in 2001. DAMMMN! old Neuromotor was angry ;p THIS is how I like my darkpsy! its perfect and should smack around todays artists! a few storming tracks like this on the album while the others were more in-line with the typical Hyper Frequencies/Mechanik Sound/Neuromotor hard psy. I've uploaded this release for all to hear ^_-

That was on Neuromotor's first album in 2001, not the Plastyk Elephant & Hyper Frequencies album. I forgot about that song and will search it up. I feel there was a similar name or maybe a rmx years later that was on some compilation.

 

EDIT: listening to the track now - so good ;D mental audio shadows disguising my thoughts ;O always loved Neuromotor. I was introduced to his 2003 'Electrik City' album and style first, very different attitude than these older tracks.

haha he's mad! and still has the headphones on ;p I've seen this short clip before of him dancing and another climbing back onto the stage at the same party. I always thought it would be cool as an artist to do that if people are digging your mix. dance with them! on the last song tho haha
