Guest Bahamut
I think I'll be forever in love with the albums you mention and I place them above all modern electronic music. And yes, those are about the best albums from these artists. You mean you didn't even like Rubycon Part 1? That is as varied as it gets in atmospheric music from that period. Maybe you'll have to give it another try. Klaus Schulze is not really the same style, but if you don't like these classics after some listens I don't think you'll like Schulze either.... Guest marc
Yes, these TD albums are one of the best (new TD stuff is realy shit). Also try Stratosfear and Encore. If you are looking for new artists with the same sound, look for Redshift (UK) and Radio Massacre (UK). KS made also great albums and he still does. Guest Otto Matta
ritual om - Don't worry, I LOVE ambient stuff and I felt that same way listening to Schulze's stuff. Didn't have the order I need. Would probably be great after 20 listens, but I'm not patient enough.
Guest Bahamut
After patience comes reward! Klaus Schulze is such a great artist. He can take you on a ride for half an our straight like no one else can (the best way to experience it: in bed with headphones). I'd say most of the 70ies berlin school music is too active to be ambient, although it's usually very atmospheric too. The music sounds so alive because it's partially improvised.. and because it was made and recorded with analog equipment only. Anyway, some just can't dig it I guess, which is too bad. For me it was and still is a musical experience unlike any other. (note: I'd stay away from a lot of KS newer stuff in any case)
