how is it possible the best project ever to release his first new album for 4 years and no one talks about it? (prefer raving on the last obscure pseudo-underground 1 month lasting housy hybrid/full noisy release or what?)

who will distribute it in europe and when?

when on saiko's?

and above all, HOW does it SOUND? (yes i know Serge is not involved anymore but...)

come on psymikaze, feedback PLEASE.

interesting indeed... you sure there sin't a name mix-up or something? (another group with the same name). I doubt Total Eclipse would release new stuff all the way in Japan instead of doing it in Europe first... I mean, they are french, you know...

It's quite simple Lemmi :-)

Japanese people buy much more music than Europeans together. Thats why many European acts choose to release their music in Japan first. And also why quite a large deal of the bands also sign on to labels such as Solstice Music in Japan. I know from some of the artists that they do quite well in Japan alone. It's a fact that japanese people (kids) tend to download a lot less than the European kids and they also but more music a month than the Europeans. So thats why :-)

new total eclipse? now this will be sweet! :)

lemmi.

the etnica boys released chrome in asia on solstice (as ep mentioned) like 6 months before the western world got the etnicanet-version. i for one prefer the first version, witch was more minimal, anyday :}

Well in my opinion Total Eclipse haven't evolved sine their early days.... It's the same formular and sounds all over again and again.... nothing new under the sun.... just milking the cow !

Hello

Okay, I agree that their first albums (Delta Aquarids 1995 and Violent Relaxation 1996) where the best. But what about the Access Denied album they released several years later in 1999, also on Blue Room Released? I think they evolved a lot from their first two albums to that one... Access Denied is really experimental...

But, after that album, Serge Souque (The Antidote) left the band, and that's probably why they doesn't sound that good anymore. Last time I saw "the new Total Eclipse" live, was much more minimal than before. But they had a come back (with Serge too!!) at Samothraki 2001 (Sola Luna). At that live sett, they played all the great tracks from 1995-1996. It was amazing!

About Japan. Yes, more and more psytrance artists release their albums first in Japan, and a lot of them release them ONLY in Japan. In Japan there are much more music collectors. They also have a bigger scene there, bigger parties etc, with bigger artists, which results in more cds bought etc.. Japan is also famous for being an expensive country, which results in more money for the artists performing there and releasing their music there...

Yes thats true, the first Albums where great, i was 14 years old, and i started to listen to PsyTrance, and this was one of my first ~10 CDs, the first one, was the first TanTrance Compilation.

The Access Denied Album was good for me, nice sound, but it was/ is no PsyTrance, more like house and such stuff, but nice to hear.

I will have a look at the new album, if i can get it, and i hope it's not too bad ;)

Actually several of the Japanese distributors have clauses in the contracts that state they get to release an album first in Japan before anywhere else in the world gets the release in question, so it doesn't surprise me at all. I remember when I came back to the US from Japan I was seeing all kinds of "new" albums being release in the US like 6 months after I had purchased them in Japan (even big name non-psy artists are doing this).
