Goa Travellers Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Hello, I'm thinking about chosing a modular synth. I'm doing some research and I'm tempted to get a KarmaFX, I enjoyed the trial version so far. I'm also tempted to get a Micro Modular. What is your favorite modular synth? A full-fledged Doepfer eurorack? Quote
ouroboros Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 karmafx is pretty good. buuuut...the new wusik 4000 is due out any day now...if you hop on the group buy you can get wusik 4000 AND wusik station for cheap cheap cheap. if im being honest though...reaktor Quote

Martian Arts Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Make Noise and Intellijel for me. Doepfer for the basic utility modules. Quote
postunder Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 digital - scope and nord analog - eurorack with the higher end stuff Quote
Goa Travellers Posted May 8, 2014 Author Posted May 8, 2014 I've been using the full version of KarmaFX for a few days. I'm loving it, the user's manual has some invaluable stuff, and Kasper, the creator of the application and author of the manual is very kind! Quote
Purple Sunray Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Sonic Core Modular from what i have heart/seen so far.. but nobody can't effort that $h!t if you don't run a studio.. Quote
Goa Travellers Posted May 9, 2014 Author Posted May 9, 2014 Heck, yeah, €4,000 for the rack + €180 for the application, this is just carried away, compared to the €99 of KarmaFX... Quote
desysko Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 I saw the review for that module. It seems like a total monster. I would love if I had a friend who was into modular stuff so that I could check it out. I think a local synth store may have it but I doubt they have it out of the box to play around with. Quote
Martian Arts Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Nice! What do you think about the Rene? Thinking about getting that. Here's my old Doepfer/A.Sys modular Quote
Panoptes Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Its great fun. Sometimes you have to lick your fingers a bit for the touch pads to function well but overall its really simple to use. Quote
Martian Arts Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 1st patch https://vimeo.com/95381187 Gonna love my life programming and recording sounds from this Quote
Panoptes Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 sounds good mane. Intelijel makes some great stuff. I love my cyclebox such a powerful OSC! Make Noise is releasing a DSP reverb module that looks very appetizing. Its next on my to get list. Quote
Martian Arts Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Here's some classic FM patch.https://soundcloud.com/nectesting78/intellijel-atlantis-classic-psy-fm Quote
Martian Arts Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 I cannot stress how brilliant the ES-4 with the Silent Way suite of plug ins is... Modular never had it so good in terms of what is available today, inside 8hp. Here's some fun and games with sine waves...and a saw. https://soundcloud.com/nectesting78/es-4-step-lfo-fm Quote
Martian Arts Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Assigning CC to alter patch groove via STEP LFO scale, off set.https://vimeo.com/96617029 Quote
desysko Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Seems pretty nice, looks like you got a new tat, am i right? Quote
Panoptes Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I cannot stress how brilliant the ES-4 with the Silent Way suite of plug ins is... Modular never had it so good in terms of what is available today, inside 8hp. Here's some fun and games with sine waves...and a saw. https://soundcloud.com/nectesting78/es-4-step-lfo-fm yea that thing is awesome and i'm digging the sounds. I was considering getting it a while ago but opted out for other modules that would give me something other than more modulation options. Quote
Martian Arts Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Love the Atlantis. What I love most about it (besides the sound) is how practical it is to just churn out sounds to use in tracks by just patching in CV/Gate and then programming the thing with what is already there. And there are *a lot* of sounds available, before you even start patching other modules with it....where the real fun starts! Yup Desysko, its almost healed now, cheers Quote
Panoptes Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 the waveform tats on your fingers are a neat idea. Wish I had thought of it! Quote
Goa Travellers Posted June 4, 2014 Author Posted June 4, 2014 Panoptes: There is still room for inspiration...What about tatooing on your fingers ADSR, one letter per finger? (except the thumb) Quote
Martian Arts Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 the waveform tats on your fingers are a neat idea. Wish I had thought of it! I have a few friends who are tattoo artists. The waveforms where not planned, just spontaneous ink after being bored on a Monday morning. Cheers! Quote
