Guest Daan
If you order online three CD's from Liquid Sound Design (part of Dragonfly), you get a free copy of the Interior Horizons CD. Still they are expensive. And I allready have a copy of Interior Horizons. And they request to allow up to 28 (twenty-eight!) days for delivery. Does it take that long? Any other places that are good for buying chilled out space music? I like SaikoSounds.com (inexpensive and fast), but they are sold out on the LSD Elucidations CD. Interchill.com is even nicer, and they also sell some stuff from other labels. Where to buy psychedelic ambient?
Lemmiwinks
are you the same Daan that posted here like ages ago? In case you are, welcome back!! SMI²LE
Guest Reconstructed
Psyshop has a fairly extensive chillout selection. You'll find most Interchill releases there. www.psyshop.com
Guest Daan
Yes, Lemmiwinks, I've been posting here ages ago. I started out using my nick "d-helix", but changed to my real name later. Nice to be back. :-) SaikoSounds.com says about Sales Tax / Value Added Tax and Import Duty: "We do not charge any taxes or duties. It is your own responsibility to pay any import duties or sales taxes levied in your own country (if applicable and charged in your country)." That's the way I like it. ;-) Amboworld.com just adds the Value Added Tax, nothing you can do about it. I've done a little research to see how i can get what I need deliverd at my home in Holland. At interchill.com: ICHILLCD016 V/A - 13th Moon $15.00 (11,99 EUR) ICHILLCD015 Talisman - Various Artists $15.50 (12,39 EUR) YINDUB Youth in Dub - Orchestra Mythique $18.00 (14,38 EUR) ICHILL-CD-012 Floatation - [ V/A ] $13.95 (12,39 EUR) Shipping To: Other Countries - $9.00 (7,19 EUR) Extended price: $62.45 (49,90 EUR) Packaging and Shipping: $9.00 (7,19 EUR) Grand Total: $71.45 (57,10 EUR) The same order at psyshop.com: Compilation: Youth in Dub [Dragonfly 1CD] 13.22 EUR Compilation: Floating [interchill 1CD] 13.17 EUR Compilation: Talisman [interchill 1CD] 13.17 EUR Compilation: 13th Moon [interchill 1CD] 13.69 EUR Shipping to Netherlands (2 - 4 days) Weight: 410 g 5.41 EUR Payment: Credit Card 0.00 EUR Total: 58.65 EUR Something simular at SaikoSounds.com: Mere Mortals - Universal Code CD - Interchill x 1 @ € 11.74 = € 11.74 The Kumba Mela Experiment - East Of The River Ganges CD - Liquid Sound Design x 1 @ € 12.51 = € 12.51 Various Artists - 13th Moon CD - Interchill x 1 @ € 11.74 = € 11.74 Various Artists - Youth In Dub Ochestra Mystique CD - Liquid Sound Design x 1 @ € 12.11 = € 12.11 Total Weight [including packaging]: 435g Cost of all items = € 48.11 Shipping Options Shipping Type Delivery Time Shipping Cost Total Cost Airmail 5 to 10 working days € 8.02 € 56.13 Courier 2 to 3 working days € 28.76 € 76.87 At Amboworld.com: Search results for "LIQUID SOUND DESIGN", Category: ANY, Genre: ANY. Sorry your search did not work - please try again Search results for "INTERIOR HORIZONS", Category: ANY, Genre: ANY., Category: ANY, Genre: ANY. Sorry your search did not work - please try again Obviously, Amboworld is not into selling music. ;-) They actually do have some in their database, but too little of what i like and most of it is sold out too. So what's the conclusion of my little survey? Pricewise, all three are alike but SaikoSounds.com is the cheapest. I ordered from them once, and got the stuff in a couple of days, by airmail. I like ordering straight from labels, and have more money go to people who actually make the music, but at one single label there's usually not enough to choose from. Speaking of choice: at Psyshop.com, things don't seem to sell out easily. Ofcourse it helps when you archive the floatation comp as "floating" in your database, but still... I think I'll order at Psyshop.com, and get most of the stuff I need at one place. Anybody knows a place where Chillosophy 3 is not sold out? Guest Daan
Thanks. I already ordered at Interchill, 'cause 13th Moon was sold out at Psyshop.com. That was sold out really fast! Ultimae. com has a good shop with lots of stuff from other chill labels too, I noticed.
Guest Never Mind
Hey Lately i've been thinking in this issue and here it is an amazing coincidence ! Or it's just a kind of paranoia ?!? Well, i don't know (i'm very confused) but thanks for these very useful posts, anyway. Now i'm pretty sure of the best way of applying something that i've been learning all over the years and that i read somewhere: "The best way to help yourself is to help others. Vice-versa is also true. Anonymous" Btw, speaking about Liquid Sound Design, I just discovered/connected recently with their music and it's because of this kind of stuff that i'm totally hooked for music ! And also very good messages that Youth are spreading in the covers (Youth in Dub have a booklet with beautiful poems called "words by Youth") with some deep thoughts, very nice to inspire your mind while you are tasting the music ! About Ultimae, I agree. For everyone looking for Ambient, is where you can get the finest selection on their distribution catalog and also with 10 superb own releases. Some, truly "Pieces of pure Art" that should be in some true museums. Well, they are in mine, at least And after start to use their webshop, together with the amazing 2003, i realized that Ultimae is showing everybody how should work a modern Label, in my opinion. FABULOUS work, without shadow of doubt.
Guest Never Mind
"The best way to help yourself is to help others. Anonymous" So, the conclusion is: If I am only a listener, best thing to do is trying to get stuff directly from the Labels i LOVE & wish to give an humble support. Help me feeling good
