Looping

Read some posts here and people talking about loops in a shpongle topic. Well, sure they use loops from many sample cds. But, they all do! listen to Spectrasonics Distorted Reality 1&2 and listen to the music that was released during that same period as those sample cds. Take 3.turn and then listen to distorted reality 2, you can make their tracks yourself! just copy and paste... deedrah using them, logic bomb everyone.

 

But, is it wrong? how far should we go?

 

I think people shouldn´t use a sine or saw wave to reate their sounds because that is just using preset sounds...blablabla..... I am bored? anyone noticed!

I think it depends how they are used.. if you just add a sound to boring track (in example entheogenic) its not good.. but in example amon tobin uses only sampler to make music and its fucking good music ...z.z.z.z.z.z..z.z.z

using one shot samples from sample cd's etc.. is ok.. (through effects etc..)

 

would never just use a loop straight out tho..

I also think its lame if you hear a non-edited loop from for example Dist. Reality or Metamorphosis in productions.. But if the producer manipulates the original enough, it can be really cool to hear the results.. Like, "I know this loop.. but what the fuck is it?!"

 

I remember hearing loads of loops from metamorph. in Otts productions, and his manupilations/restructurings are really sweet imho.
