CoMaster Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Greetings, fellow musicians and producers I've been using M-Audio and Audio-Technica products for the last half of decade, and they're pretty convincing thus far. I don't have a wide range of experience in other vendors, since my low budget. This year however I'm having some upcoming gigs, and the inevitable shopping season is at my doorstep. The problem is still with my lack of big bucks, so the toppest item on the shelf is the M-Audio Axiom 49. Another option is the Oxygen gen. IV, which is also appealing, and a lot cheaper. My question is: Is the mechanism so much better in Axiom, and does it make a whole lot of difference in electronic music? I've been doing some guitar based music for several years, electronic music is just a passion of mine for the last 1-2 years. I'm not really a keyboard virtuoso, so right now I can't tell the difference. My dilemma is a bit deeper: will i regret buying the cheaper thing in a couple of years? Thank you in advance! Quote
Veracohr Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 I have a different Oxygen, the Oxygen8 V2, and the action is terrible and almost completely unplayable. If you have any stores where you can demo boards before you buy one, I suggest that. 1 Quote
CoMaster Posted September 13, 2014 Author Posted September 13, 2014 Next friday, I'm going to test both of them, but it's always good to read honest reviews. Thanks. Quote
