khogg Posted January 11, 2004 Posted January 11, 2004 I totally agree. Astrix is the owner of that style. No squeaky ear splitting GMS track I have ever heard is anything like Astrix. Infact, I would say that both Astrix and GMS have very distinct sounds. When you hear a track by each, you can be pretty sure who made it. Almost all artists have their own style, some are just more unique than others. Even the massive amount of full-on artists out there each put their own spin on the formula, and some are much better at it than others. Quote

Lemmiwinks Posted January 11, 2004 Posted January 11, 2004 of course all artists have *slightly* different styles... even back in the oldschool days, you could clearly tell apart a track from Astral Projection and Prana and California Sunshine for example, although they are all unanimously recognized as being practically the inventors of the goatrance sound!! that said, for artists who a truly unique and don't sound like *anything* else (although it's still psytrance in theory...) I'd say: Sandman Texas Fagott Joujouka Haltya Hux Flux (first album) Orichalcum And The Deviant Psyko Disko Quirk Ubar Tmar Yammabikaya ... and the wierdest of them all: Shaolin Wooden Men!!!
