Guest Robin Annal
I know this is belated but we just arrived back home from Mexico and wanted to share our pics from the Son Pax NYE Show in Cancun. The lineup was a solid lineup with Atmos, Ticon, Sesto Sento, Peter Dijital, and many local DJ's. The party was located in Cancun on the beach about a mile down the main road, in a lush secluded area of the beach. I would estimate about 5000 ppl attended, with people still arriving at 8am ... which was a shame for them though because the best part of the evening in my opinion was the sunrise over the carribean sea. The weather was excellent... even in the middle of the night ppl were still in bikini tops and shorts. The music was excellent, all fitting the time of the night perfectly... and aside from the main stage being slamming , the locals stage was amazing... the Son Pax guys have some quite talented DJs in their crew. Only drawback about the whole evening is that the Mexico scene seems to be more worried about fashin and attitude than the music... there it is a trendy thing to listen to PSY... the only info we could find in Cancun about the party was at the Diesel Shop. I mean I dont think I have ever seen so much 'bling' ( otherwise known as ppl dressed up in club clothes... Dolce&Gabbana, Prada, etc). There were ppl there in dresses and heels and men in shiny shirts and 200$ shoes. It is still a new scene there, but it worries me to a amall extent that in some areas psy is more mainstream and being popularized amongst the uppity crowd =( Pics of the party, as well as pics from our Mexico trip ( The beach, and Chichen Itza and Tulum as well). Go check them out =) http://www.triskelemanagement.com >galleries>Mexico Hope all of you had a great NYE and are having an equally nice New Years.... Guest SourMilk
you have to consider that in Mexico, NYE still has a dress code. And if you consider that most hotels throw a party at NYE that encourage people to dress properly, then you might wanna reconsider that judgement regarding the scene in CanCun. Guest Tentwins
I was going to say the same thing. Probably most people in Sonpax attended a NYE dinner before he party, in which code dress is required and not exactly fluoro clothing. Guest B.G.
in the Mexican scene is in most cases like that cause only the rich and middle upper class can afford to attend those kinds of events, i would go in versace clothes too, rather than in an outfit or costume but i care more about the music .
