Guest SourMilk
Lemmiwinks: I was making a point when I say that Hiphop at 140+ bpm is not what I would call hiphop. psilo : "EVOLUTION THROUGH DIVERSITY." I believe that the first matter I found attractive about the electronic scene as a whole was the fact that actually the human voice wasnt leading in most cases (not saying ALL) the songs, you know like transmitting the message with words... I felt that electronic was instrumental for the fact that the message wasnt related in someway with the human interaction, the everyday feelings and thoughts of leaving with people. It was more related with the fact that we all belong to something else, bigger, cosmic...whatever...freedom of conciousness..mind expanding..exploring... The bottom line is to question if those two genres can mix considering the nature of their souls...
Guest psilo
"The bottom line is to question if those two genres can mix considering the nature of their souls..." Thats a very interesting question ... but if you take into consideration that ANY genre of music is just a collection of sounds to form an expression - and given that that expression can be whatever the artist intends - then I'd say yes, those 2, if not any 2 (or 3 , 4 , 5 or whatever) genres could be manipulated in such a way as to fit each other like a glove. Mind you, thats not saying that it is necessararliy going to work, alot of the time it wont - and it may take ages to get it right ... but to actually get it right could / can be something very special :-) MUCH LOVE AND RESPECT TO ALL MUSICMAKERS WHO DO IT A LITTLE DIFFERENTLY - YOU MAKE MY WORLD THAT MUCH BETTER !!!! Ok, this is a good point, maybe when I think back this may have been the same appeal factor for me too ... but as time has moved on I persoanlly have found that I need a little more out of electronica ... something that will grab my attention and get me the hell out of my seat. This could be aquitted to the repetative nature of trance (and most electro genres) these days ... I hear nothing new (with a few exceptions) and the monotony of it all has washed over me like an oil spill ... which is why new inovations like this whole psy/hip hop fiasco has turned me on so much - I guess I also like the fact that it has pissed many people off too - at least it is getting an extreme reaction - getting noticed , with more practice Im sure the 2 styles will integrate more successfully - through being in the dance scene most of the people I have met have a certain amount of open mindedness more than that of others , Im surprised that hardly anyone if even giving it a chance and shitting all over it before it has begun. 'Oh my poor poor psy what will become of you ??' - maybe, just maybe something wonderful.

Guest AndeanFunk
I first started going to psy parties in NYC in 2000, at the time I was producing hip-hop music, instrumentals, beats, etc. I was really into underground hip hop at the time. I was intrigued by the production and arrangement of the psy Trance tracks I heard @ parties. Na, Mean ! Now a days when I make music, eye experiment with both styles at times and create tracks that go from hiphop 2 psytrance style drum patterns. It's all in the timing, (a 72 BPM hiphop drum pattern can be morphed, combined with a 144 BPM trance 4/4 beat.I have a few sequences that sound good in this hybrid style. I would like to get some more equipment, especially a synth so I can create original sounds and make it more psychedelic. Also a great MC is needed with timeless, inspiring, mind expanding, knowledge dropping lyrics to compliment the music, but his voice can also be sonically manipulated, echos, etc. no limits !! But a great MC is Key, can't have no ego boosting, braggadocio, shit talking, materialistic, masagynistic, nursery rhyme dropping monkey, junky, doing his thing over a hypnotik trance inducing, foot stomping psychedelic track, black ! And das a fact ! Some good hip hop to check out is BDP (Boogie Down Productions ) - KRS ONE is the main MC, he has intelligent socially concious lyrics, check out the album " Edutainment" by BDP Also groups like anti-pop consortium, freestyle fellowship, Siah and yesuah da po e.d, Company Flow. I have a deep respect for both cultures and find similarities betweeen the two. Both hip hop and psytrance evolved by using and combining elements from different genres 2gether. Early hip hop parties were done outdoors in a park using stolen electricity, they would last all night, people would dance non stop, break dancing evolved, MC's started to rhyme and back up the DJ. Visuals were provided by the neighborhood graffiti on walls. Let us not restrict creativity, we must allow music and all art forms to be free to do what it wants 2 do. So it can move our souls and reunite us, if just for a moment with the eternal bliss. Holla - peno and BOM Shankar peace 2 all, Andean Funk

Guest necro
yea andean funk has a good point. I listen to psy-trance and alot of underground hiphop......... alot of which is truly psycadelic. Company flow and alot of their ongoing projects have a very surreal dark and eary feel. Some stuff by jedi mind tricks as well and not mention alot of shit by dr octagon. the thing with hip hop is that the best stuff (or actually the only good stuff is undergound....just like psytrance.......afterall we would all agree that commercial euphoria power trance is pretty disgusting music....just like 50 cent is. Guest Gav
How old are u guys??? Sounds like you have seen ages go by and miss the golden age of true spiritual music or something like that, ents or mountains of extreme imobility. Some of you any way. I just listened to the track, find it rather boring and flat, but no spasms of conservatism in my body, whats wrong? Its just music, and i could imagine, that with bigger effort it would be able to evolve the idea of emerging styles apparantly as far away from each as e.g. HIPHOP AND PSYTRANCE. Thanks to AndeanFunk and necro for the tips on hiphop. I agree with alot of you with your conservative points of view, but it would be a shame to bring it so far to blind your eyes and ears for new developments!! The idea is great, the track isnt! boomboomboom leta me hear u say eaooo
