Penzoline Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Yeah so I've completely fallen in love with this album. It's helped me tremendously past week. I need recommendations to similar type of (mostly beatless) drone/ambient. I'm NOT looking for the "spacey" noisy/tinny drone albums(For example Blanck mass), I'm looking for more deep dreamy atmospheres like TwentyThree. Shit I really wish CBL would make another one of these. Quote

Balance Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Those Roach albums are simply amazing. When I'm stressed or overtired they are my go to listening pieces. I fall asleep to them on my 'phones and wake calm and regenerated. Quote
Manuser Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Steve Roach - Mystic Chords & Sacred Spaces is dark space ambient and it's so so powerful and deep man, it's magical. But if you like your beatless ambient a bit less dark I would strongly recommend Thom - Brennan - Satori, it's 1 track of 71 minutes http://www.discogs.com/Thom-Brennan-Satori/release/1971421 It's very relaxing. Balance Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 lol. There is nothing space about it nor is it dark. Have you listened to what is real dark or space ambient? When I talked to Steve himself asking for music to help me through a major anxiety disorder meltdown his words were @these albums are some of my least dark, and more focussed on the organic nature of sound rather than drones, voids and space". I'd believe the musician over you. Quote
