Guest Alexis
I have been observing these last posts, talking about artists who disappeared and tracks that should be classics....And i was wondering, r Psytrance Artists nostalgic about their previous works ( or u can name it,early productions ) up 2 their musical zenith>???? I mean not just the period, but also the old epic goa style>??Do people like Christof (Absolum) & Dado (Deedrah etc) miss their old Transwave project & sound>?? Does Serge and Stef + Loic miss their old-all back together Total Eclipse sound>??Or Astral Projection>??? Or Rami Shapira (Chakra) & Edi Mis>? Does Tsuyoshi Suzuki & Nick Taylor miss their old Prana project & Matsuri Records even as a company>?? Or Max,Maurizio and Andrea (Etnica - Pleiadians) miss their own sound-gems>??? Okay,as u can see it can go on forever, just to mention them, but i think u got just a bit of a wide view...And to get to the point, since we r (most of us or a part of us) so nostalgic about the ''Old Sound'', I am thinking maybe they r too! But I am not quite sure, maybe these periods seem a bit & quite far away now........But I am just wondering.....What do u guys or Arstists (New or Old) think about it>????? Do they miss it or not>????????
Lemmiwinks
well, I know that AP still consider their best track to be Let There Be Light (actually they re-released the original version on EP in 03, no remix no nothing so maybe that tells something about how they find their "old" sound?) I also know that Dado still considers his best work to be Transwave's Cycles of Life (but then again you'd wonder why would he'd ruin it with a crappy remix?) other than that usually artists in interviews are like "that's over man, we put that shit behind and started doing better stuff". seraph
Yes, it is real shame when artists decide that. I could never understood what to hell happend when such talented and quality musicians suddenly stop making music. The only thing that fells on my mind is that is might be cause of ego and egocentrism cause they certainly don't run out of ideas...Heheh...I am also sorry for Green Nuns, UX, MFG, Mindfield, Witchkraft, Orichalcum, Power Source, Koxbox ( since recently ) etc. So, I don't know, maybe new comers "politely" asked the original artists to step off the scene cause their music is no longer in fashion and we all now that the audience is dictating the artists and that very rarely artists except Astral Projection, California Sunshine, Electric Universe still hasn't changed their style just cause they have their "fixed" audience and don't care about the fashion. I am very glad for that and I don't mind cause they don't change cause at least they are keeping their tradition of sound. There is so many new artists that has great production, pretty good mixing and editing, and stunning patterns and effects used in music but the real TRANCE SPIRIT still lies in spirtual pumping driven melodies, soundscapes and lower kick pattern that always give perfect trance condition and state for a real trance listener. All deviacies of trance sound like MINIMAL or for that matter even PROGRESSIVE do distort the sound and somehow minimize the trance in it...I TRULY HOPE THAT SOMEONE OF ALL OF THOSE ARTISTS WILL REAPPEAR AGAIN cause we ALL MISS THEM ! Guest Mike D
as Seraph said trance comes from massive melodies and soundscpaes, which is why I find ambient and downtempo a lot nicer now-a-days

Guest moai1
i miss the old style.. but i dont know if i want it to become so much popular. i never listen to new trance. the only new trance that interests me is the experimental stuffs.. like posford and benji vaughan, and some people that still make goa trance in 00-04. otherwise i listen plainly to old stuff. i make music and only like making stuffs with melodies, and ambience.. not interested in making big crowd dj material and formula music !!! check our music: http://www.moai-online.tk
