Lemmiwinks
Thanks for this re-link. I've visited this site about 2 years ago but I see that in the meantime it has been seriously upgraded. And some of the comments make you roll on the floor laughing!!! SMI²LE
Guest Honguito
"GOA TRANCE aka hippie trance" lol! "Goa would be the best genre ever, it it weren't for the fucking hippies" LOL! What would goa be 'without' the "fucking hippies"?
Lemmiwinks
well the dude obviously doesn't take himself seriously The comment I like best is on progressive: "Alright this progressive nonsense has to stop. You do not make yourself intelligent or creative by using that word. Instead you make yourself out to be haughty and pretentious. That makes you no better than the french. This goes for progressive rock, progressive house, progressive trance, progressive progress and even progressive itself. Kill the word already. It means nothing." LOL!! Guest Honguito
hehehe damn man.... that "definition" of progressive looks like something that could come out of my grandma's mouth when to explain 'any kind of' electronic music! =)
Guest Daan
The guy is right about progressive. The word has lost it's meaning. I don't see what's so progressive about most music that's called that way.

Guest Zyggy
I love that site, it cracks me up. One of the few URL's i've forwarded to my friends. As far as term "progressive" is concerned. When I first encountered it I was a bit confused. I asked myself "what's so progressive about this stuff?" Then I realized that the word "progressive" didn't mean the first connotation as in "leading-edge" or "state-of-the-art". But the more clumsy variant as in "augmenting", or "forward motion". That is- a style of trance that progresses gradually, adding elements over time (hence a sense of forward motion/development). Using this meaing, it makes perfect sense. A progressive tune has a steady forward moving, well, progression. I think some of Neum's older stuff is a classic example of this style, or perhaps Orion and Ticon. Compare this to an Alien Project tune where the thing breaks down every 32 bars and starts a new scene. Something like "progressive rock" usually implies the first meaning- cutting edge experimentation in the rock sound. Hey, there's some really great prog-rock out there; in that world it really is "all about the music". King Crimson, Henry Cow, Magma, Univers Zero, French TV, Zammla, Etron Fou, Gong... -DZ
Basilisk
I like that site for some parts, but their section on trance sucks donkey balls. The psy/goa isn't THAT far off (some of the track choices are pretty nice for example) but his whole section on anthem trance/epic trance etc is total rubbish. He incorrectly divided the commercial from the underground and didn't do a good job of dissing up either.
