Starkraver
Oh yes! Here in INDIA, along with vinyls, cassette tapes are a hit. May be due to peer pressure on Hifi forums? Or may be just nostalgia? Not sure, but they are pretty much there.

Blair Thaumic
They're popular in IDM too, for some reason. Maybe I should make our first release cassette/digital?

draeke
Wicked stuff, I could not really imagine the media I found to be the crappiest in the 90s is coming back. I guess it's the damn hipsters who brought them back, with all that retro stuff they are into from the 80s ... jokes aside is fun to see I guess. But as I owned and still own a lot of tapes from the 90s I guess I won't really go back to that medium so there won't be DATTAPE001, no need to invest in that ghetto blaster you always wanted to buy, yet.

Cynos
Cassetes are common in vaporwave and similar genres too.
Starkraver
Lot of metal releases in colourful limited edition tapes these days. Lubomyr Melnyk offered to make casette of his continuous piano just for me All these small labels (even big one's) come up with ltd edition casette and vinyl. When they are sold out. Change the colour , put it out as a limited edition again. And that strategy seems to be working.
Veracohr
My girlfriend told me she knows a guy who releases casettes of new music, including her band. I think she said he sells most of them in Europe, very few here in the US. But you never know, those darned hipsters just might try to bring them back!
RTP
I would embrace a comeback ... for me, tapes never were dead ... I still have a lot. that's because my car has a cassette radio Mostly it's metal... But the coolest I have is this: http://www.discogs.com/Shiva-Chandra-Spicy-Moments/release/1782322 Any recent psytrance stuff that came out on tape btw? (The release even has a review by one of our own, Radi604 on Discogs) Not sure about psytrance, but I've seen a few ambient / neo classical / future jazz and a ton of metal releases on Tapes. Goa-Head
DATTAPE001 Imagine say Mark Ainley did a DJ mix from released tracks on DAT Records, forthcoming material and possible/potential future tracks and even some tracks from his personal collection/draeke's collection, record the mix on a 90 minute tape and 'press' say 50-100 maximum. It would be an awesome idea IMO. I have 2 tape decks, 3 actually because one is a double decker. 4 to be exact, because 2 years ago I bought a 'walkman digitiser' from the local LIDL, I wonder how much he sold, apart mine
