Squid Posted May 10, 2016 Share Posted May 10, 2016 I am a big Eat Static fan and I own all his/their albums and I've listened to them countless of times...But I didn't like Dead Planet. The whole thing seems to lack the soul of their previous releases. The metallic-sounding filters are way overused as if just to signify that this is Eat Static's trademark. Apart from the Eastern-themed chill tracks, I didn't find anything interesting or surprising in the second cd. The dance cd is mediocre, a lot of meaningless metallic plodding that lack any direction and is a remote echo of the best "static" years. I think that Joie added a lot of flavour to the "static" sound. And yes, even the geniuses lose their creativity eventually... Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
