Kitrinos
Hello psynewsers, here's a suggestion/request for the oldschoolers: I didn't find any "best of" poll from the earlier years. Personally, I'm particularly interested to see results from the years '96 & '97, as there was a lot of output those two years. At first I was introduced to psy music through the free releases in Ektoplazm and then, when I discovered Psynews, I used the "best of" polls as a reference to discover more music. So, I think that a "best of" poll from those early years would be useful for the new generation and for those who are relatively new to the scene, and want to dig into the '90s and not miss the best goa trance that was made during those years. What do you think? Anyone interested?
johnb820
That would be so hard. There was so much good stuff released in those 2 years. It would almost be unfair to do a "best of".
Dolmot
Nothing wrong with a poll. For quick help, you could try Basilisk's Essential Selections and Global Goa Party 2.
Kitrinos
Yes, I've actually checked some of Basilisk's Essential Selections. But it would be far more interesting to see the opinion of 20-30 people combined. To make it easier, you could choose 20 albums or exclude compilations (or make 2 different lists). And in the end we'll have a nice long list of classic albums.
Ake
Maybe the results/the answer is just too easy/obvious? Kitrinos
Nice list, thanks for writing. I'm sure there are a lot more left out (like Doof, GNOTR, X-Dream). That's why it'd be interesting to see which ones would make it in the top 10 if many people voted in a poll.
ollylovesgoa
'96 - Alien Proten. '97 - Very difficult indeed, putatively I.F.O but personally Multimoods... maybe

Paul Eye
Chilled Compilation The Mystery of the Yeti I wouldn't exactly call the first Mystery Of The Yeti a "compilation", more like a concept album as it's all done by Raja Ram + Simon + Total Eclipse (and Graham Wood on the last track). The second one is more like a "concept compilation".
thanosp81
Brain meltdown imminent. In times like these I feel soooo lucky that I was listening to Goa during the golden years.

In times like these I feel soooo lucky that I was listening to Goa during the golden years. At times I feel jealous of newer listeners as they get to experience all that music for the first time

Starkraver
right Trippy future garden is better than all of them. That was just my inner Etnica/Pl/CC fanboy comment.
Paul Eye
right Trippy future garden is better than all of them. Ah, the album I have a nice love/hate relationship with Depending on my mood and so on, it can be either absolutely brilliant or utter crap. This is exactly my feelings to this. I have loved this album but didn't like it on my last listen. Maybe next week it'll be great again. Starkraver
Ya, I know that feeling very well. It struck me when there was actual ant invasion at home and I was listening to Ant invasion at that time. And Bam! I fell in love with it

Starkraver
Yes. It's really terrorising :| both the small red ants and the HUGE black ants are ferocious little fuckers. Bloodbath, chaos, death, freaking out, running for life kinda shit. (Imagine big blank ants everywhere on your floor, if you put your feet down, you are fucked. They made my poor old pet bleed thrice!! She hardly eats food these days!) Waaaay off topic! Sorry for that
abasio
Well, at least you have s good soundtrack for it, there's that at least.

trancedigital
Chilled album Enigma - Le Roi Est Mort, Vive Le Roi. You're an Enigma fan? My electronic music journey started from Enigma and led me to trance. Enigma has a special place in my heart.
abasio
Very much a fan. Not so keen on his more recent output but up until The Screen Behind The Mirror, his albums were all excellent. Le Roi est Mort, vive Le roi is my favourite if his. Love the atmosphere of it.
