“De Duck – Conducktor LP” (Not on Label) 2014/13 (promo CD)

It is read that Iftach Yakar -the muppet of De Duck- was born in Tel Aviv, Israel. It reads on that he used to live an ordinary life with ordinary stuff. That is, until one day when De Duck emerged onto his head. No one knows where it came from, but this cute-looking rubber duck placed itself on top of Iftach's noggin... Using his grays as a host, it took over Iftachs mind and began producing electronic music.

Quickly enough, De Duck became drawn to produce Psytrance like a duck is drawn to a pond. The style within and focus was the more mass appealing Progressive-Psychedelic-Trance genre. Iftachs previous in life spectrum of listening stretched itself from Progressive Rock music, to Glitch, Jazz and to modern Psytrance which in Israel is immense popular in both huge stadiums and on the desert dwellers more private dune of oasis.

Apart from the music, De Duck is also a sound scientist of the quacked & fun sort. He specializes in building his own custom midi-hardware and synth modifications. Which is truly fascinating by itself, and it makes his live act very much unique and mesmerizing in its own ducky way!

De Duck hosted a weekly show on the Glitch.FM internet radio for a year before paddling on to new ponds of presenting. Over the time since morphing into the phenomenon De Duck, he has played in most major clubs, venues and festivals in Israel and is also one piece of the time starting to conquer the world.

When rubber ducks quacks and squeaks their sockets to create electronic rockets of interstellar ground building Progressive Psytrance, it is a fascinating and modulating experience. So “what exactly is a function, of a rubber duck” in Psytrance music? You’ll just have to see this act live to get that true answer. Or you might endure yourself on a Psychedelic trip experience and put on some of De Duck – personally I find his music to be good fun with nice stuffing and curious compositions and a wholeness of interminable changing flow. De Duck has still not been to this date properly released like the anatidae he is on a fly label.
