HappyHorse
PF Project - Choose Life I think the moral of the story is that we can be free to choose what we want, but in calculation the 'iron cage' (cf. Charles Taylor - the ethics of authenticity). We tend to think our choice to make is 100% free, but in the end we all hurdle with the masses in a way: we are social animals with a (free) will. The fact is that we can choose how to implement this freedom in a authentic way in our (daily) life. ...let's put the philosophy into trance
the goa constrictor
Slinky Nuns - Shitty Stick (Better than a Poke in the Eye with a) I always thought this was a moral and helpful message about life...

reger
Hehe, remember at the end of 90s they were selling these huge CD boxes on TV called Megahits of 90s or sort of and par to of this video clip from OP in it, once in a while thought about it as in which track that was, now I see ! HappyHorse
I tought there would be some more philosophical reflection in the (PLUR) goa scene Another example: Chi - a.d. - The Ocean also dreams https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3O7qyR2B2w Moral of the story (imo - and what I can see in it) isn't only the emotional setting ofthe intro, but also the voice stating "here, man is far from supreme". A good indication we as a species act too arrogant and cionsuming the earth like there is more than one. Respect for things that are bigger than us, instead of quantifying everything and setting control parameters on it for our own benefit...in the end I think that this entire album is a reflection on life. The last track with the raven also indicates that feeling imo.

antic604
I have a soft spot for Cosmosis' "Contact" album, which - throughought its length - tells a story of human evolution from money & instincts-driven, self-destructing homo sapiens to enlightened species living with other extraterrestrials in 'intergalactic community' outside our so-called reality, that is only an illusion and holographic projection of our minds. https://youtu.be/inHvnRvFPkk https://youtu.be/QBuRpO_BAfk https://youtu.be/3D7p5Lq3F6Y https://youtu.be/VRGulLGUJe8 Not really a moral piece, but definitely an interesting comment on human condition in the context of infinite universe

antic604
Hey! Wait I thought aliens were off limits here Well, what if the "reality is only an illusion, a holographic projection of our minds" is true? If that's the case, there are two options that I can think of: 1) Martix-style, i.e. someone / something (aliens?) is generating this world for us and we're "slaves" in real world 2) I'm the only conscious being in the universe and my "brain" created the world around me just for me, including you, this very forum and even this conversation that in reality I'm having with "myself"

antic604
Oh, I just remembered one that fits right in - "Overcoming Occhiolism" off of Globular's recent album. In addition to being the best track on there, it contains a sample that always moves me: "We might have no meaning in the cosmic context of the universe, but we make our meaning daily with each other. It's the thought that leads to action. Your days are numbered, you don't know what that number is but it's finite. So get busy with whatever it is you want to do. Time is running out".

Colin OOOD
Man, I love Bill Hicks, that track and the album it comes from! Any chance for a new Voice of Cod release someday? Andrew is possibly moving to Czech Republic soon, which could make things easier. If we can get in the same studio together, and the vibe is still there, it's a possibility. However my psytrance fuel-tank is running low at the moment. I feel like I get so little back from the care and energy I've put in over the years that there seems little point.
