Guest Dr. Gonzo
Hello, I'm just playing with the idea of creating a website specifically for old skool goatrance, what do you guys think should be on it ? *a forum ... (with lot's of options) *a system so that people can check out each others old skool collection... *an old skool dj system ... *an old skool flyer collection ... well, just bring up the idea's ... it's doesn't need to be popular, as long as i can be busy with creating a website it's ok ;-) some more things ? as we say : "the customer is king" psy greetz
Guest Kristian
*a database of information on oldschool artists both old and *new* would be nice
Lemmiwinks
well, I've seen quite some websites on very old acid rave stuff (meaning stuff from 1987 to 1992), they have a section with tape ripps in real player format of old DJ sessions, radio shows or live acts from the time, it's a really neat experience IMO!! Now if there were a place like that but with oldschool goa and proto goa tracks it would fucking rule!!! (imagine some ripped tapes of a Goa Gil DJ session from 1988... mmmm) examples of such rave sites: http://www.everythingstartswithe.co.uk/ http://www.hardcorewillneverdie.com/ SMI²LE
Guest Dexter
Hey doc, This would be the best way to preserve the Core of Goa spirit. People could also contribute footages of Old Goa Parties be it images or videos. Love N Light
Guest K
I'm with Lemmiwinks, putting old stuff online. What did the original Goa Parties sound like in the mid-80's ? Almost impossible to achieve I'm afraid... Finding some stuff from 1990-93 would be easier.
Lemmiwinks
"What did the original Goa Parties sound like in the mid-80's ? Almost impossible to achieve I'm afraid..." very difficult, yes, but not impossible... there MUST be piles of old tapes stashed in people's basements out there!! I'm sure that if there was some centralized effort encouraging people to bring out their stuff we'd get some pretty interesting material I mean who would've thought it would be possible to have a DJ set by Sasha from 1989? or original footage from The Book of Love? Guest Dr. Gonzo
all right i'll have a look at the propositions and start working on them ... now i'm busy building the dj script... i just felt the need for something specifically old skool oriented ... indeed, to preserve the spirit, a last hold on, ... you can actually see the point where the wave hit the high water mark, broke, and finally rolled back in the sea ... Guest Kalle / Tranceform
Hi people! Like Kristian pointed out earlier it'd be better to have information on new-school goa-trance aswell, not just the (literally) old stuff that is pretty well documented for example on this site. I'm very interested in the project - it'd be great to have a site specialised in goa-trance :-). If there's anything I can do to participate, just get in contact with me (either by e-mail: info@tranceformrecords.com or by ICQ: 144602838) and maybe I can be of use in some way! Cheers, Kalle / Tranceform

Lemmiwinks
"the (literally) old stuff that is pretty well documented for example on this site" I wouldn't say it's that well documented... everybody started talking (and documenting) this stuff starting from 1996 but let's not forget that goatrance was a continuous evolution since the early 70s!! I always get the feeling from people that goatrance is something that just happened over night... Wouldn't it be nice if by collective effort we could track how this thing started? Guest K
IMO, people thinking that Goa Trance appeared all of a sudden have the short hype of the 1996-1997 season in mind. A preliminary effort to track down how things started is presented here. Some in-depth investigation is still to be conducted though. Guest qwerty
Great idea! I think the site should document everything possible from the good old times! Audio, flyers, photos, INTERVIEWS, databases... But also, contain info on the new Goa stuff that is starting to emerge, not everyone these days creates copy-crap-isra-trance.... Guest The Lost Buddha
And also what Kristian mentioned , a space on the site specially to new school Goa production. =)
Guest Dr. Gonzo
working on it ... *there will probably also be a large database with old skool releases, *you will be able to add releases & search them... *old skool dj's will be able to add their profile dynamically *there will be an old skool forum *there will be a history of goa (thanks to JEFF GOA ) *there will be a gallery for flyers & pictures of old parties maybe also video *people will be able to create collections, like on discogs, but then specifically old skool goa, they'll pick their cds out of the database & thios not listed will be added by the users ... *maybe there will be place to add new oldskool releases *maybe if my own hosting allows it, there will be audio downloads too BUT this will take time to build of course, right now i'm building the database, dj section is finished, forum is prebuild i'll keep in touch, any suggestions for the NAME of the site ? thanks
