Jaspupper
I listened through Rock Bitch Mafia and I really, really liked it, so I wanted to ask whether there is goa thats similar in how jazzy and funky it is.

the goa constrictor
There's really nothing like The Nuns. That said, I'd recommend Green Oms "Coming Through in Waves" and all of Tongue and Groove's stuff.
psytones
Agree on the Green Nuns <3 .. I also want that album one beautoful day *in my CD collection*. I was listening to the UX - Ultimate Xperience today while working and had the thought that one of the tracks had that exact funky GNotR thing going on. Cant remember which track it was but its in here somewhere. Do enjoy! https://kissthesound.bandcamp.com/album/ultimate-experience

Blair Thaumic
Shakta - Silicon Trip has a similar 'bouncy' feeling to the Green Nuns, IMHO, though with more Arabic/Middle Eastern influence. For more funky acid-goa, Esion God, Tim Healy (Squid/Cephalopod), and Spirit Level have some great tracks.

Jaspupper
haha Thanks for your input. And I do already really like Silicon Trip, although I did mean a sort of funky hardacid goa EDIT: The Spirit Level track is awesome!
Celaripo
There's really nothing like The Nuns. That said, I'd recommend Green Oms "Coming Through in Waves" and all of Tongue and Groove's stuff. which specific track of tongue and groove? i went through a few track on youtube and all i could hear was dull progressive kind of trance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azRlaPlqbHg
antic604
From the new stuff I'd recommend checking Martian Arts' album - it does not sound like GNoTR per se, but it's similar in spirit: funky, groovy and acidy (but not as heavily acidy like GNoTR): https://www.psynews.org/forums/topic/73083-martian-arts-giant-locusts-tip-records/ https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLLF_JLOo4y5mlFppm8WyY9AwOLWmWxeDB

Padmapani
the only artists that are as funky and acidic as gnotr are comsosis, slinky wizard (and of course slinky nuns ) and oood. the green oms are also funky but not nearly as acidic. i'd recommend cosmology or this one:
the goa constrictor
which specific track of tongue and groove? i went through a few track on youtube and all i could hear was dull progressive kind of trance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azRlaPlqbHg Tongue & Groove are definitely much slower in tempo, but I feel they have a similar 303 acid and funky nature going on. Le Sleaze is groovy and their remix of Baby Gravy and their remix of the Green Nuns too The set I heard from them last summer sounded even more acidic and groovy than this stuff too. This definitely isn't a replacement for the Nuns, but if you're into the Nuns acid and funk and would be into a reduced tempo, you might dig =)

Jaspupper
3 more crazy acid masterpieces: The Ubar Tmar track is awesome : D Though I'm pretty sure that the Prana track is actually ''Ring of Fire'' by the Nuns . Doesn't make it any less of a crazy acid masterpiece, of course.
Blair Thaumic
This oldschool South African acid madness reminds me a little of GN: https://www.discogs.com/Various-Mideranged/release/584335 This act didn't make many tunes, but the ones they did are funkadelic: https://www.discogs.com/artist/33910-Outer-Active

Colin OOOD
Someone mentioned OOOD in this context (thanks! ) so here's 'Spangles', one of our tracks which had an intentional Green Nuns influence when we wrote it in 1997. You should also check out the rest of this mix as it's top... https://youtu.be/3wAA1aUghrY?t=52m42s
