But now I'm even more excited about it, because of that change of pace - it's not a chill-ot per se, more like a downtempo psytrance like Flooting Grooves or The Peaking Goddess Collective. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Also, I love how delicate and spacious the mastering is. Listened to V/A Terraformer samples back to back and got a headache from that one... I've been listening to it since this morning when the files came up for d/l on bandcamp and I need to expand the list of influences with Shpongle, especially their last two albums - lush strings, gentle electronic arpeggios, dreamy soundscapes. The only thing I'm not sure about for now, is some of the tracks using generic slap-bass guitar sounds, which - to an old fart like me - sounds like they were programmed using General MIDI sound bank from the 90's Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It feels SLOW, because it's full of guitar noodling, spacey synth lines and gentle acid runs; but it is FAST in terms of tempo with most tracks at 140BPM or higher.
