Guest psyreviews :)
Various - The Condundrum of the Radjahindi Tandoori (The Ten Dishes of the Raj) T.E.A. Records Stop press! And worthy of a single psyreviews mailout - released today (1-4-04) a tune fest that has been marinaded in the spice of Disco Valley until the auditory territory has reached its prime and is ready to be released into the hypo-sonic atmosphere of the new age millenium. This is a concept album based around the life of a colonial Indian snake charmer whose beast escaped the charm of his instrument and attacked the princess daughter of the local Raj, who demanded that the incumbent would be spared the consequence of his musical inadequacy if he could cook him 10 dishes the like of which he had never tasted before. This release comes complete with an inner sleeve recipe book so you'll never be short of Indian ideas to rip off in the kitchen!....so to the tracks To open we have the Crazy Barking Lab Techs with the Kn-orma Knees Up who start us off afresh with a popodom bass line to really set those bahjis bouncing. The Purest Fungi follow with the Balti Banger and the sonic spices they unleash into the frying pan of the future really raise the temperature...Heaven's Image utilise the classic ingredients of the locality to serve up a staple dish of uplifting irrelevance, and the Interference Consumer take all manner of unexpected components and fuse them in a East-meets-West mashup of a musical approach - the 'Jalfrezi Jig'. The climax to this heavy concotion of liberated eastern spice is the morning after's Ring Of Fire (Spiced Up 2004 (with added dynamic crunch) mix) which leads us perfectly to the calming dubby vibes of The Everlasting Assignment's - Kala Dub. All in all a crackingly orignal and refreshing take on a genre that had been in danger of dissappearing up its own arse. This cd will balance your chakras like none before. FIVE GLASSES OF SOYA MILK, A VEGAN FLAPJACK, AND A TANDOORI KEBAB THING. AND A BHAGEE. http://www.psyreviews.com
