recursion loop
Propellerhead was recently bought by another company, there was a thread at KVR. Overall it looks like they are trying to save a sinking ship, good luck to them.
antic604
Propellerhead was recently bought by another company, there was a thread at KVR. Overall it looks like they are trying to save a sinking ship, good luck to them. I've not heard about it, but it is quite likely indeed - I don't see it mentioned as often as it was back in early noughties. Integration of VST can be a thing to save it. Would be a pity if it disappeared - it's approach is pretty unique, especially since introduction of extension racks. The modular structure is pretty sweet and it extends to VSTs as well. On the other hand I find it hard to identify with software that tries to look like hardware, that's why I went with Ableton Live because it doesn't pretend to be a mixer desk or an analogue synth Will have to check the demo someday
recursion loop
In theory this may be very promising. Reason has its own thrid party plugin format deeply integrated into its modular strcutre, to much more extent than a normal VST is inegrated into a normal DAW. It may be good to have both major VSTs and these unique Reason plugins at hand. In practice I guess there will be crapload of issues with various plugin frameworks, multi-out VSTs, resizable VST GUIs, VSTs with unique MIDI learn and preset handling systems and shit. Anyway if it turns out to be workable I may buy a basic version of Reason someday, it does have some kind of appeal.
psychasm
i think its a good idea , even though the implementation is still in early phase. I mainly use Reason to make my music i would say 99 percent of the time and vst integration seems about the right time to happen now. I havent tested yet , as i would need to upgrade to the latest version but would be interesting if this applied to the stripped down $50 version. Of course, i can a safely assume that not all vst will be compatible but hopefully the majority like all of the major ones like NI, and the like and all of the stuff that use PACE.im still on version 7.1 and happily grinding along with what i havE
