thanosp81
OMG, It actually sounds really good and diverse. And no full on/NeoGoa - one million layers - I don't know what I'm listening to - music either.
Goa-Head
How do you know? Are there samples up somewhere? I judged the book by the cover; read the remix artists and assumed mostly full-on. But maybe not.

There's no option to buy just the files and it's sold at Boshke Beats page, whereas it's being released by Flying Rhino?

There's no option to buy just the files and it's sold at Boshke Beats page, whereas it's being released by Flying Rhino? It's like these guys (Flying Rhino) just don't give a rats ass about "properly" releasing this record. The last entry from their facebook page is more than a month old, they have no bandcamp page (!?), no press release etc. I know old-school is the new thing but come on guys, it's 2017...

I remember some years ago (maybe 10?) they wanted to put together a site for Flying Rhino with all old releases available to download but even that is dead (a snapshot in Webarchive: http://web.archive.org/web/20110203035518/http://www.flyingrhino.co.uk/). antic604
WORD OF WARNING I contacted Boshke Beats and they say that: - album will be available on CD and digital via Juno and Beatport on August 1st, - buying at Bandcamp now, you'll be able to download only the 2min samples, while at release you'll get 'codes' to download the whole thing. Really weird of them to do it like that...

That information was available on their bandcamp yesterday with a warning DO NOT BUY DIGITAL FORMAT (even though I couldn't see an option for digital purchase). antic604
That information was available on their bandcamp yesterday with a warning DO NOT BUY DIGITAL FORMAT (even though I couldn't see an option for digital purchase). I know, but who ever reads that To elaborate - Bandcamp makes it really easy to set up a pre-order, with a very clear indication that it is pre-order and files are not yet available: there will be track names, etc. but no 'play' button. Example - upcoming TIP Records. album. At some point I - and probably others - got used to that. Therefore it's strange to see: - option to buy now, but you're really only buying a pre-order, - files to download, which are just 2min samples. It's business 101 - if there are tools to make your customer understand what they're buying, then use them properly. Otherwise it's misleading, even if there's fine-print warning. Anyhow here is some quotes: “What can one say about the Immortal Dons of the scene...The Kings...Jan and Marcus…like coca cola...the only two people have the secret...how to constantly make amazing music over the years...masterful tracks by these two German Lads...Techno…Industrial…Trance...they have a magic wand to produce some of the biggest tracks in the history of our genres...imagine we are small boats...dinghies canoes...and then along comes a battleship...fully loaded aircraft carrier...gigantic enormous...beautiful....lifting parties to a new height...saving many from the drab formulas…X DREAM has imprinted indelibly the stamp of greatness and love of their art...so many monster tracks and albums...all done with drive and passion and a thrust that makes your feet body and soul go into turbo boost...also their sweet singer Ariel…who adds a certain spice...these boys are on the top of their game..since the early 90"s..they have forged a special path in our lives.....and we hold them dear...and bow...so many projects…The Delta and others scorch our minds...and we wish them eternal success....and thank Alex Tolstey and the crew for all their love and hard work...to me...the BEST...and many others will agree...keep going…never stop...turn it on and keep it on and turn it up...love to you all” RajaRam / London October 2016 " In the mid to late 90's, X-Dream very quickly established themselves as “THE” premier psychedelic trance production team and artist deluxe of the Scene ... if Simon Posford ( Hallucinogen ) is the 90's electronic Jimi Hendrix, X-Dream are Led Zeppelin. I remember being in LA and San Fran when “Radio” came out and played the cd in the open-top sports car very loud, down the state’s Pacific highway and thinking this was one of the best recordings I'd ever heard ... from that point in my main brief to Dragonfly artists and producers was " make it sound as good as X-Dream! Marcus & Jan…complete game changers! " Martin Glover aka Youth /London November 2016 “During a 2006 BBQ at Boshke Headquarters in Spain, Richard Blur and I decided to make a tribute album for one of the most inspirational trance acts of all time, X-Dream. It took a while but it's finally here! Featuring remixes from some of the most influential artists all of time whose magical musical gifts we've all enjoyed over the years. I'd like to say a big thank you to Marcus and Jan for the countless hours spent in the studio tearing apart the innards of their gear trying to bend the fabric of space and time to deliver pulse pounding, inspirational music. “We Created Our Own Society, We Created Our Own Happiness” Alex Tolstey aka Acid Black /Panama City, June 2017 “X-Dream. I will never forget the first time i discovered them. It was a huge moment. It was 1993, I was in Rough Trade, my local record shop, and I put the needle on the record of X-dreams “5th Dimension”. Oh my God…WTF??? Who was this??? Rough and Rush? who are these guys?? A new sound jumped out and became an obsession from that point on. They have been at the forefront of the trance movement ever since they started, and everything they have done has never been less than brilliant. Emulated, worshiped but never bettered, they were and still are true pioneers of the scene producing anthem after anthem… To find ourselves being part of this project honouring Jan and Marcus is beyond words - A dream come true! Masters of sexy, deeply addictive electronica. Thank you guys, for all those perfect peak moments on the dance floor…” James Monro, London, June 2017

antic604
And there you have it. Everyone tried to copy a fantastic album and Goa/psy became so formulaic that people lost interest. One of the things that made that album a classic was how different sounded compared to the rest goa/psy at the time. Worst thing is he said "make it sound as good as" and they understood "copy", which - with less talented artists - was reduced to droning kick & bass and we ended up with 2000+ tech/prog phase which split the scene. I don't think it was a bad thing however, just find it interesting to read that quote as this was something I suspected for a long time.
