Giorgi Shavgulidze, a Psychedelic/Goa trance and Psychedelic Chillout artist from Tbilisi, has several EPs and compilation appearances under his belt, primarily on Ovnimoon and Timewarp but also on Global Sect's recent "Terraformer" 4CD monster. Giorgi's mostly known for his up-tempo work: driving, melodic and acidic neo-goa sound, but is no stranger to slower tempos either - his "Into The Deep" E.P. released by Mamomam Rec. is a great testament to that. The 4-track release takes the listener on a travel through cold, peaceful and vast spaces of the cosmos and undersea, accentuated by well-chosen, rich and reverberating sounds and droning harmonies, occasionally sprinkled with melancholic melody, distant voices and effects. The deeper we go, the faster it gets, too. Whereas the tempo goes up only from 80 to 90 BPM, the tracks get denser, more tightly packed with complex pulsating sounds, the beats get more rhythmic and the bass hits harder - all adding to the journeyesque character of the E.P.
