Digitalys
Hello Psynewsers! This is the dj set I played at Mossy Behavior - Forgotten Forest Tales (2017-09-15) in Belgium where they invited Schlabbaduerst Rekkords. I recorded it back at home since it didn't get entirely recorded at the party. It's a mix of darkish Oldskool Goa, early '00 Psytrance and Oldskool Forest Trance. I tried to make the set easy enough to step into, but also psychedelic enough to be worthy of leading into the Schlab team. It's probably the most representative mix on my Mixcloud as I mostly get booked at night and these are the genres I play the most. Hope you'll enjoy! Comments more than welcome! https://www.mixcloud.com/Psyt3k/psytek-mossy-behavior-forgotten-forest-tales-2-2017-09-15/
HappyHorse
Not a forest kinda guy But you suprised me how well that Bypass Unit track blends into this genre First 50% of the set my thing: heavy, a bit slower,... love it!!! Story telling is your thing!
Digitalys
Good to hear some feedback, Ward! And thanks for the compliment. I do spend 50% of my mixing energy on trying to figure out a story.
IronSun
Listened to this one a couple of weeks ago... total mindbender! Love how you tell your story and do it in a way you don't hear much these days. We need more of these forest/goa crossovers as I think this should be the dominant night time style on a party! I think the diversity achievable through this blend is reason enought o justify this opinion. I'll still need to check out some of the artists in this set, great stuff! Hasheeshian
Proper mix!! Storytelling is indeed top notch, and the style of music is right up my alley How was the night overall? I saw Ka-Sol 2 weeks earlier in Sweden and wow, quite a special morning...
JISNEGRO
Nice set, thanks for posting it! I would love to hear more like this in the future
Digitalys
Thanks for the feedback! Really nice to hear. On platforms like Mixcloud I don't see a lot of feedback on dj sets. I usually play darkish Oldskool Goa sets at night here in Belgium, but the last 5 years I've been slipping in more and more "early" Psytrance and Forest Trance tracks. As long as I keep it dynamic and with enough climaxes I feel it can work on Oldskool parties. I'm working on some tracklists for future parties and I'll see if I can get one of them recorded again. It was a very decent party! David played a 2 hour retro set with a lot of obscure stuff, often layered on top of eachother. Then Battle and Ka-Sol went on for about 7 - 8 hours live, switching between eachother's music. A lot of classics, hidden gems and unreleased parts were played. There were approx 100 - 120 ppl there, pulling eachother into the dancefloor madness. It was an intimate gathering. Myself I didn't experience any dull moment in the music. I could go and listen to them live again for as long or even longer. Dj set played there by D-Dave: https://www.mixcloud.com/david-tingsgård/d-dave-mossy-behavior-forgotten-forest-tales-2-2017-09-15/ And a few weeks later this beauty got released: https://the-cure.bandcamp.com/track/ka-sol-stenlundapolska
