free mp3 download sites

Here are a few sites I've come across on my journeys into cyberspace which I'd like to share with you, where you can download some top quality mp3's (128Kbps & 192Kbps).

I'd like to encourage others to do the same and post some links to other free mp3 download-sites (only legal ones of course).

 

Wouldn't it be cool if this could be an ongoing part of this forum?

I used to download a lot of my mp3s from MP3.COM but as they're off-line I've had to look for sources elsewhere.

 

The emphasis should of course be goa/psytrance, but links to psy-ambient vibes would be great too.

This is not really related to this but i want to tell it anyway. :/

 

in Finland we are allowed to copy cd's legally to friends and family, also download from internet, but not share them on the net. We have this Teosto to who we pay ridiculous sums for example a empty cd-r so that when we copy music they share it with artists, now they even want their share (money) off mp3-players. They are really money hungry bastards, the thing is that none of the in charge in Finland stands up to them because even the media gets money from them, so they don't want to bite the hand that feeds them.

 

But then again, i can borrow dvd's & music from library or internet and LEGALLY burn them. People just don't seem to be aware of this good enough here.

 

Is it the same way in any other country?

--> To Naiman: That does sound rather extreme, still, it's doubtful whether the artist would get any slice of that profit at all (maybe the crumbs!), unless he's signed a major contract. There's no such organization here in South Africa but cd's here are very expensive because of our weak currency. But we have loads of second-hand cd merchants, incl. flea markets where you can get cd's for less than half the normal price (I've been wondering how artists can get royalties from 2nd-hand cds).

PS.: What is Teosto . . . some kind of MUSIC MAFIA?

Mike: Hehe, well i think you could call it Mafia only, because what ive heard they soon want to take pays from hard-drives too because on them can be stored mp3's, its really getting ridiculous. I will start tomorrow a new thread about this, im interested to hear is it the same way in any other countrys.
