ear, why dont you tell us the *REAL* reasons why the scene in the US o A is not even NEAR the one EVERYWHERE in the world?

Because then he had to admit that it's poor in USA :-)

But I agree that TV does not paint the correct picture of USA... Especially American Local TV Networks...lol A lot of Americans could learn something about that.. never watch your local soap station if you want to get the real picture of the world (outside USA).

I believe the main reason why psytrance never got big in USA is because of the exact same reasons that psy trance never became big in most parts of the world. It's a sub culture that appeal to certain kind of "underground" people. Maybe it some day wil grow bigger... who knows but I doubt it.. It's been around for about 10 years now and it's still quite small compared to the potential market out there.

SourMilk....first of all, there is SOME Psy Trance in USA and I wouldn't say it's

"not even NEAR the one EVERYWHERE in the world". I think it's deeper underground in US then in some other parts of the world. Keep in mind Goa Gil is an American. I will however agree that the size of it per capita is not as big as in Israel or other places in Europe. I hate to answer a question with a question, but I think it will help you gain some better perspective.

Reasons why USA Psy scene is not as big as some others are probably similar or same as why isn't Jazz as big in Asia or Scandinavia as it is in America, or why Latino music is mostly popular in South America, and not as big in Japan..

Bullshit like explanations that "Americans are alergic on quality" or "selfish" is

simply ignorant.

....and believe me I don't like George W no more than you do...it's just that I can separate the two and many here can't

jazz is big in scandinavia for shure!!! not that it mathers tough

I'm not gonna dispute there is a Jazz scene in Scandinavia (just like there is a Psy scene in USA). It's just that Scandinavian Jazz scene is not as big as the one in USA and vice versa for Psy Trance. Anyway I think you know what I'm trying to say.

ear that quite obvious because USA is way bigger than Scandinavia ;)

But to your information some of the finest and biggest American jazz musicians have lived here (especially in Copenhagen) for many years and married here. We have a international Copenhagen Jazz festival each summer that last a week and showcase the finest jazz music from around the world.

Jazz is indeed very big here according to the population figure. So your not right in your claim. Actuall I doubt that 3 out of 10 people in USA love Jazz as here in Denmark ;)

It's all about ECM man!!!

E.P. I think you got my point too :) All big names (Hallucinogen, Shpongle etc. etc) have indeed performed in USA countless times as well, and yes there are

big Psy events every year in US also (Gaian Mind for example). To make it more politically correct maybe instead of Jazz we can mention size of Hip Hop scene in US vs Scandinavia instead, it really doesn't matter. It's just a technicallity and I'm sure you know what I'm trying to say in my posts above.

lol - 9 out of 10 kids here are into hip-hop ear ;) Again your on thin ice.... According to population figures Hip-hop is just as big in Scandinavia as it is in USA ;)

But just jerking you around of course even though it's true ;-)

Ok how about Country music instead? :)

Don't tell me 9 out of 10 kids are into Country in Scandinavia. Maybe they have some underground Country Western festivals and rodeos over there like Psy in US... who knows everything is possible :)

No but 10 out of 10 farmers here are into Country :-)
