I actually found a good prog remix of a goa classic

Agree that's a great track. I was there when Atmos opened with at Boom 2016 - what a moment.

Lyktum's take on Mahadeva, whilst nowhere near the original, is fit for purpose and not a waste of time like 98% of remixed classics are.

I like a lot the Liquid Soul Remix of Gods eye on Goa - The overlords. All the original melodies are there in a good way... Only the kick and groove is massively modern

Lyctum's Mahadeva version is quite good as well. I didn't know about that Starfinder remix (and never heard the original either) but I like it too. Actually these prog guys are often quite competent in production but short of good musical ideas so if they manage to find a good mateiral for remixing the results have all chances to be awesome. 

 

That Liquid Soul/Overlords track sounds too much like Paul Van Dyk to me, I don't mind some cheesy trance melodies in psy but this one goes way too far.

Well, its the original melody  And I guess it is more trance then goa (and I really like some Paul Van Dyk tracks too :p )
