Lemmiwinks
I'm amazed to see that the TIP colour compilations are back!!! But is it any good? 1st track: The Infinity Project – Stimuli (Hallucinogen Remix) hmmm... sounds interesting... anyone care to review it? Are we back to oldschool again or is this just another attemt to cash in on previous fame? SMI²LE
Guest Cryion
as far as i know only the first track is interesting. the rest seems to be the typical israeli stuff which it seems like no one wants to listen to anymore
Guest Kiph T. Elephant
"the rest seems to be the typical israeli stuff which it seems like no one wants to listen to anymore" Someone must be buying this stuff or else they wouldn't release it. Lemmiwinks
"Someone must be buying this stuff or else they wouldn't release it." yeah I really wonder who cause when you read the general feeling here EVERYONE hates the stuff... or is psynews just an exception to the rule? Lemmiwinks
"I found this to be a pretty messy compilation. The 2 classic remixes are probably the reason why most people will buy this compilation, and they are indeed good tracks, no doubt about that – but not as great as the originals. " kindof confirms my doubts... SMI²LE
mars
I 100% agree with Cryion. The Hallucinogen remix rocks though it's not such a big work for him, this track being really close to the original one. The rest is sh**......hum......let's say......better than Safi Connection )) IMO this Red compil is a scar amongst the colored TIP series. Guest Aegon
logic bomb - typical israeli stuff? LOL :] u guys must start listening to the music, not just looking at the tracklist and judge by the label/artist names. it sounds to me like "typical gms sound" said by ppl who never listened even to a single gms track IMO the LB track is one of the best remixes so far in 2k4 (with BLT rmxed antix and son kite remixed deedrah (if "game and watch" counts for remix? ) ) die-hard progheads and fullon freaks PLEASE WAKE UP :] not everything released today is crap. there are other acts, not only son kite,atmos,ticon,vibrasphere/astrix,safi connection, melicia, dynamic
Lemmiwinks
Aegon: I think everyone was complaining about the OTHER tracks than TIP and Logic Bomb remixes... SMI²LE
Guest Cobz
Iv'e been listening to psy/goatrance for 6 years now, and I think this comp is nice and refreshing, esp. with new rmx's of "older" tunes.
Guest Jon Cocco
Other than Stimuli and the remix of Datalinks, this album isn't all that. Some tracks are obviously more catchy than others, and the Xerox Vs. Psycraft one is decent too, (nothing great, but kinda cool) but I wouldn't reccomend buying this comp unless you own the other TIP color comps and collect them or something, because this is NOT the best one and they could have made it better. In ther words, this isn't bad stuff, but little stands out from what we're used to hearing, and the stuff that does stand out isn't EXCELLENT or groundbreaking, but it is good, (two tracks you people seem to be mentioning I mentioned too) but this is still not worth the whole price of admission I feel, at least not for me, who is sick of comps that only have 2 or 3 really good or decent tracks. Regarding the israeli sound that some people seem to be sick of. Many of those israeli "sound" tracks are just fairly typical, with a catchy melody more or less, some aren't all that catchy and mostly feel like fillers. I wouldn't say I'm sick of the israeli sound, but I'm certainly less interested in it than 1-3 years back. In other words, the sound is still nice for what it is, but it just doesn't do anything for me anymore. Israeli psytrance in general needs an elevation, a change, a progression in sound out of the old one that it seems most (not all) artists have followed the past several years. I am looking forward for something where it isn't just several tracks that peek interest, but MANY! Give us an AWESOME compilation I say, where you go all and people will love it. Maybe it won't be on a comp, because few seem to be all that nowadays. Hopefully, Infected Mushroom, I repeat... INFECTED MUSHROOM will release something at the end of this year or in 2005. Now THAT is the stuff that is NEVER typical and they always switch up their intricate sound and style, experiment, and remain original and cool, even if their last album was more INTERTESTING on the "Other Side" as opposed to the also pretty good but not great, "Trance Side." IM are some of the very best and I HOPE they release an album more intricate, crazy, random, and melodic like Classical Mushroom, but even more ambitious and amazing. Those guys know how to push the limits, so I like that. But back to the Tips' RED comp. Most of israeli psytrance in general is just too basic now for many buyers, (not all, but many) to care, even though they still make some catchy stuff here and there, it just doesn't excite me anymore because its been years and it seems that the style has grown a bit "too" much on many psytrancers. Still, many psytrancers really like this stuff but I speak for myself and what seems true around me. Some of it still rocks though, but it doesn't come accross as anything new and something I'd rush to buy anymore. In other words, I won't buy this comp even though I like several tracks. TIP should look at what listeners find good or great, and capitalize on it through-out the comp so that the word spread is much more positive and encouraging for us to buy. I've heard this however, and while parts are good, it is just nothing impressive as a whole. JC laters
Basilisk
See my review on isra... and since this is psynews I can say what I like uncensored like any other outer-space ruffian, so *ahem* this compilation SUCKS! and TIP World are a bunch of goofs for doing such a piss-poor continuation of the classic colour series. BOO!!! What a slap in the face to anyone who has been here for some time and who still has a heart for the original TIP!
khogg
I wish they would rerelease the earlier ones instead of this. Maybe they will...
