Guest kingdok
The voice clip in "Cabin Print" (track 1 on Timelock's album, "10 Seconds Away") sounds suspiciously like porn dialogue. I'll transcribe what I can. A lot of it's fuzzed out by overlapping sounds. ________ MALE VOICE : You wanted to get a better view of the sunset, Jenna? FEMALE VOICE : C'mon doc. Your heart-shaped.... is *much* better than any sunset. You know, that slim waistline...all that..... ________ I have a sneaking suspicion, based on the bad acting, that this is none other than Jenna Jameson, the renoun porn starlet. If I'm right, that's very amusing Can anyone out there brave enough to confirm this, simultaneously admitting they're porn freaks?
Lemmiwinks
I'm a porn freak... but I definatley don't pay attention to the dialogue in porn movies... most of the times I watch it with the volume turned down... SMI²LE
Basilisk
You people don't want to make god cry, do ya? HUH? SINNERS! thats a funny use of sample... better than hollywood anyway! haha
Day Tripper
I just discovered this thread - several years late! Anyway, if the original poster is still around, your instincts were right - it is from a porn film. If anyone is still interested, that film is ... "Briana Loves Jenna", and the dialogue is: "You wanted to get a better view of the sunset, Jenna?" "Come on, Doc. You know a heart-shaped Brazilian booty is much better than any sunset. You know, that slim waistline, followed up by those nice curvy hips." That's another one crossed off the list of elusive samples!
abasio
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_PY1FxeVxA too obvious? The Japanese sample though is very non-male
Penzoline
Why do artists do this..
abasio
Why do artists do this.. I guess they're stoned watching porn and think "hey you know what would sound really cool?" Or they're just stupid Actually I am surprised that Simon Posford has never used porn samples like this. He's the king of cheesy samples ruining good music
Veracohr
Sure, if you're trying to be the King of Seriousness, such samples would be dumb. But if you're just being silly and trying to make fun music, why not?
abasio
Fair enough, but samples like that get old really quick. Even if I like them initially I end up getting annoyed by them and it ruins the music. I don't need everything to be super serious all the time but there is a limit to how much I can take
