Richpa
OUT NOW! https://bit.ly/FloralCortex After short break we're back again with another psychedelic Goa trance gem from the northern Europe entitled Floral Cortex. It's a debut album of Frode Ungar, a talented producer and musician from Maan project, which we already introduced on our Dimensional Gateway 5 compilation, back in 2017. The name (Maan) is derived from a special location in the south-west of Norway called Mån, a place where creativity and inspiration evaporates through the very pores of nature. With Floral Cortex, three years after the release of Field Quanta track, Maan is ready to take us on his journey once again, but this time through the deep & foresty atmospheres of biomechanical worlds where artificial creativity exists. As his music progresses, you will feel the connection between the organic and mechanical sounds, the neverending loop which greatly represents the extensive influences and styles found on the Floral Cortex ranging from ritualistic tribal and even norse pagan atmospheres towards more progressive and metalic Goa trance vibes, spiced up with forest and techno influences. Floral Cortex is scheduled to come out on 31st of May 2020 in digital and limited CDr format Pre-order at Bandcamp: https://bit.ly/FloralCortex Artist: Maan Album: Floral Cortex Label: Neogoa Records Release date: 31st May, 2020. pdinklag
If the style is any close to his Field Quanta or Reed Voyage tracks, this is a must-have and I'm already missing it!
Richpa
Mastering is ready, artwork almost there, so probably within few weeks. psytones
Amazing artwork (!), and really excited to hear the whole ride! Cute that it will be rlsd on the 17th of May, Norway's Independence day And as far as your spelling mistake or not there Richpa, "Goa tran". "Tran" is a famous 'fish oil' in Norway (Omega 3). Makes you strong. I'd think this is a strong release. Can't wait!! Very happy for it, Maan, and the Neogoa label. & btw. I strongly recommend Maan Live. He never dissapoints, one of the best experienced.
Richpa
Dafuq, I had exactly the same thing happening with Proxeeus ATMOM album being released on July 14th on national day of France. Honestly, in both cases we didn't pay any attention to thoose national holidays. I guess it happens when you have many releases and dates through the decade long period of music releasing. Anyway, thanks for nice feedback

Paul Eye
Got the CDr about 2 weeks ago, but only this weekend I got around to actually ripping it. I noticed that the audio content is not the same in the Bandcamp download and on the CDr. On the CDr, the first and last tracks are louder (track 1 by about +1.7 dB, track 10 about +1 dB), and the other tracks are randomly quieter by around 2-3 dB. See the image here (upper is Bandcamp, lower is CDr) https://imgur.com/dwHcBsb Is this intentional, or a mistake? Nice album, nonetheless

Richpa
I'm awaiting Frode's feedback and after that we will see what might be the issue. I'm gonna let you know when I get more details on this.

Paul Eye
And there's nothing that "might" be the issue. The levels of the tracks that went on the CDr were obviously altered post-mastering. What I'd like to know is who did this and most of all, why?
Richpa
As I told you on Facebook, I'm waiting for his response regarding this matter and as soon as I get it from him I will post it here. Thank you for being patient regarding this Paul, Cheers
Richpa
Okay, so I talked with Frode and Igor and everything is okay on their side, especially with the mastering. Issue might be the fact that manufacturer probably did the normalisation/RMS during the burning process so Intro and Outro do sound louder compared to trance tracks on the album. I will see what I can do to prevent this kind of situations and have some talks with the manufacturer as well. Appologies from my own and Neogoa side regarding this matter, we did everything we could to deliver top-notch release, so you can have great listening experience, especially when it comes to proper mastering. We did this drill many many times and we never had any problems. However, I always advice anyone to have the digital version from the Bandcamp instead of ripping any medium, it's the best version you can have and it always comes alongside with the physical. Take care
