Guest Jon Cocco
eh... from what I've heard so far it doesn't sound good to me. I really like dark psytrance well-done, but overall the samples are not all that. Track 1 and 8 seem somewhat interesting but the rest seem pretty repetitive and boring to me, like a bunch of little squeeky sounds around the beats. This has been done to death. I know these are samples but still, they are official parts of the songs nonetheless... Some dark melody and rhythm would be nice, not just the usual bassline repetitious, quick up-down tune that the beats follow and the usual metal and Star Trek-like sounds mixed in around the beats. I am so sick of that stuff just existing here and there without a strong, driving rhythm, even if the rhythm or stomping songs are not melodic, give me something catchy that stands out! Much of this seems boring and not interesting to me. Wasn't their last album released just a year ago? Why are they releasing something so soon, like an album every year or close to it..? This seems like it could have been better, more interesting and creative with more time annd creativity invested. Hey, I'm not bashing the album, it might be better than it sounds, or not... I admit I have not heard the entire thing in its entirety, but Dark Nebula's albums don't ever seem to impress me like the really good tracks they usually put on comps. It would be nice if they spent the time and work to make every track great, like their track on "There is no Tomorrow" I consider a really good, wicked, dark track I'd like to hear more of. But they seem to only have a few somewhat good or decent songs on this new album. You can sample all the tracks right here below: What I mean when I say "boring" and "not interesting or exciting" is like stuff on sample track 2, 5, 6, 7 ... just listen to that stuff! Isn't it boring and disappointing sounding to you? Think about it. I do realize these are samples FOR THE RECORD, but after hearing 1-minute from each song, I can usually tell if it sounds at least somewhat interesting, inventive, innovative or good to me. This so far, aside from what I've heard in the somewhat melodic track 8 and some of track 1, does not. http://www.inpsyde-media.com/releases/ime007.htm If someone has bought or heard the entire album and is willing to post their feedback or review it, I'd be interested to read it, as long as it is someone who isn't hyping the album or being dishonest. Guest jenni
yesterday the ´dark files´arrived, and i am very disappointed, because "the 8th sphere" was my absolutly favourite album for a long time. but this album is absolutly boring. it sounds exactly like the samples you can hear on psyshop. the only tracks i like, are 2 (it´s a great song, listen to it in full length!), 3 and 4. But unfortunatly the trax 2,3 and 7 has been already released on comps or vinyl. track 1 is okay for the opening; tracks 2 and 3(the only killer track for me on this album) are released; track 4 is okay, but far away from what you can call a "killer"; tracks 5, 6, and 7 are an insult for my ears; track 7 is already known, has been released, and: the remix from cyanescens is much better; maybe track 8 should be something like "morning trance"...not my cup of tea;and track 9 is once again okay for the ending (it is not what it seems to be, when you listen to the sample!) you better look for the new releases on serephana, parvati or mistress of evil
