Guest Jon Cocco
If you want to skip my props for this CD, just skip to my question to you all at the bottem to, "MY CONCLUSION" or just fucking read this.. I just got it several weeks ago on psyshop and I suggest you do the same if you like crazy, innventive, sometimes random psytrance! Okay ... I believe their, or his first album was "Infernal Angel" just released in 2003, but this stuff is so kickass! There just has to be more stuff coming from this talented artist! This guy has *GOT* to make another album this crazy or even crazier, darker, deeper! LOTS of mixing and creativity went into putting this wild, intricate, random, dark, twisted, interesting album together, and it SHOWS! Track 4, Infernal Angels is just great!, the variety that the song changes is like three songs in one; lots of sounds, the lady voices coming in is soooo catchy and cool, its GREAT and thats what I like! Not one track on this wild, original album is "bad" or "just okay," every track rocks!, some more than others, and the samples are FUCKING CRAZY! Some of them I bust out laughing its so fucking nuts! ............... My CONCLUSION: This album is rocks and I hope to hear more from Scatterbrain on another main album in the future, not just a track here and there on some comp. That being said, does anyone know if their will be another upcoming album by Scatterbrain??? Maybe 2004, 2005? Does this guy have another group like X-Dream or was Scatterbrain some side project to this artist? I hope we will get another Scatterbrain follow-up album. There is not enough truly cool and ambitious psytrance anymore and this is one of those rare cool ones, even if it may be a little too much for some people, hehe
Guest Nefarious
Corker of an album for sure! Have you seen The Castle? The movie that the "Hows the serenity..." sample comes from? he he. A new one will be cool, but really the dust has barely settled in the bush from stomping to this one!!! Have seen this mentioned on an Aussie site though: Scatterbrain - Mexican Jesus(Dark Nebula RMX) unr promo How sweet would that be!!!! Meanwhile you should buy the latest Digital Psionics comp, there you'll find lots of tits up mental trax, amongst which is Scatterbrain/Dark Nebula - Geometric Patterns. The sample of female choir-like vocals on infernal angel is also used in Hujaboy's Sonic Tonic somewhere, cant remember track name. hmmm. Do you have the Vibraspirit 23 comp? Its been re stocked on Saikosounds. HIGHLY recommended, not a bad moment, plus the Dark Nebula track is absolutely fuckin great, possibly my favourite sample also! Get the Penta album too while your at it!!!!! Good to hear you got a disc you love, aint that just the best feeling, when the postie brings a package, you spend every available moment listening to your new tunes, and they floor you!!!!!! well, ta ta. Guest ToWeR
I cant get enough Scatterbrain. I got Infernal Angel a couple months back and it quickly became my favourite album. Absolutely love his work. Hex has to be my favourite track, and i love Possessed with its Vader quote. I would love to see some more Scatterbrain emerge. Guest Jon Cocco
Nefarious, thanks for the recommendations! Its nice to know that you all look forward to another crazy release also, even if its been only a little over a year! I heard some albums you mentioned in one of the other threads, like Red Crystal and some Russian album. I sampled the Russian one but several others weren't available for me to stream. It was wild stuff and I think I'll hear it again, hehe.. for some reason the new Penta album is not available on psyshop though. I keep mentioning psyshop because for some reason I have trouble with sampling tracks off seiko sounds. Its something I gotta figure out on my pc when I get around to it. Something with realplayer and quicktime, I think I gotta uninstall or install one or the other but they work fine on every other site so I don't know right now. I wonder if the 2003 release of "Dark Nebula - The 8th Sphere" is any good. My friend listened to the entire new one and said it was pretty disappointing. But I'm sure more dark, wicked stuff is coming... later
