Guest Lance
Hey guys! Once again I need you guys' savvy advice on some goa/psy music. I have a few psy albums. All of them but one contain all the tracks done by one artist. Although I enjoy these albums a lot, I find that some of them tend to get a bit repetitive because it's variations on a theme instead of getting a kick ass track listing featuring different artists with different 'sounds'. I am so lost when it comes to good goa/psy. I come from the mainstream, commercial trance side of things, and most of what I know and own I learned about through sites such as amazon.com. That pretty much means my psy collection consists of Dimension 5, Pleiadians, all of Infected Mushroom, Hallucinogen and a little Astral Projection. When I shop at saikosounds or psyshop, I get overwhelmed with all the albums because I do not recognise any of them. It's about time to purchase another one or two goa/psy albums, and this time I'm interested in exploring some great compilations. Do you guys have any recommendations for me? Guest dasa
go to the parties. set & settings, you know. also, if you are fortunate enough to live in an area with record stores with this sorta music, they may let you listen to them before you buy. but do go to the parties - best way to appreciate the music. dasa
Guest Lance
Thanks for the recommendations, Mike D. Dasa: I completely agree with you. Home listening never does justice to certain types of music. It's all about the set and setting. I love trance any way I can get it, but I'll never forget the magic when I went to my first live trance set. It takes things to a whole other level. khogg
I reccomend: VA - Emergence (Nano) VA - The Mystery of the Thirteen Crystal Skulls (Tip World) I think most would agree these are two dam fine compilations and should be readily available at the regular online psytrance shops. Guest koolaid
I agree with khogg :-) Though I think that my favourite compilation is still: M.D.M.A. - Future Navigators 2 (from 2000) I've been listening to it quite frequently for the last four years ;-) It may be a bit difficult to find a copy though, since I'm not sure if the record label still exists (anyone?). *UPDATE* Amazon seem to have copies: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B...3655713-9307614
