From underground psytrance as Yumade to commercially succesful neo disco as Yuksek

I found this great Tripiatrik live set at Youtube:

It's actually a mix of mostly Paps and Yumade tracks, and one Tripiatrik track, nonetheless, great stuff.

I was a bit surprised by a comment: Pierre Busson, aka Yumade, is currently making disco flavored electronic music as Yuksek.

And he's doing really good judging by the number of streams:

What other psytrance artists have managed to transition to other genres and become successful? The only other example I can think of is Infected Mushroom.

On the other hand I think there were also people who transitioned from more "regular" mainstream music into the Goa Trance market, when it became a short gold-rush. As with anything I guess some enter things based on trends/financial opportunities.

I find it very hard to believe that anyone would transition from mainstream music to Goa trance to make money. I can't think of one example.

I think Infected Mushroom and other artists from Israel who were embraced by both the Psy scene and more mainstream market segments, had a good formula. Astral Projection I see as one of the few groups who didn't need to compromise on their style. It has stayed more or less the same in essence. And is still widely popular it would seem. :)

Astral Projection are certainly appreciated in the psytrance community, but I wouldn't say they are widely popular nor appreciated by mainstream markets. They have 77 970 monthly streams @ Spotify, that's far from widely popular. Dance Is The Answer is their latest "hit", and it hasn't even got one million streams.

Yuksek has some real bangers! I love that Icare remix, among many others.

Here's another surprising case of evolution... remember Cyan?

Nick from Cyan now releases melodic house as Nick Devon (and some of it is pretty great):

Oh yeah, and remember Eskimo? I'll let you look up JOYRYDE on your own time...
