Well you know, now is sort of a good time, even just an addition to the forum itself with nice proper logins for the users. Sureley everyone has noticed the posts from these poor guys who doesn't have anything better to do in the daytime than avenging their honor on a forum on the net. Adding a login might not secure the forum from such posts in the future totally, but it will not be as easy to post spam as it is now obviously. Guest zer0-mantra Posted July 29, 2004 Share Posted July 29, 2004 Well, it should definitely be possible to block their IP's from even entering the www.psynews.org domain in the first place, which also mean they can't access the forum. Whenever they appear under a new IP, it's simple to just add it to the list. It's also easier now that the forum is under the same domain as the main site. This should be MUCH more effective than to just warn them and tell their ISP that they have been bad. I think it's better to give them time and in the end there will be a really good result I believe the next Psynews will have a forum where you have to register, I think the moderators themselves don't even want this thing here anymore... Of course all those spam posts were annoying ... I still don't know how people can be so fucking bored that they just see no other thing to do than to spam a forum and to ruin the community for the others. The forum already has some activity, and it just needs more visitors (so far, only 34). Also, leaving the forum part to Koolaid will give you more time to take care of the main site. Besides we're already 40 people there and growing (hopefully we'll be 100 at the end of the month). That's why I vote for integrating Koolaid's forum into this website. Also, this means less work on the forum part for Mars = more work on the mainsite instead. All it takes is to change the link on the "Goa Forum" button to lead to http://www.sonicblend.com/forum instead. At least until Psynews 2 is ready. With HTML disabled, this forum is now deader than ever, so why not? With this site leading directly to Koolaid's forum, we'll have 250 members there in no time.
