Redo
For anyone that cares: https://treetrollarecords.bandcamp.com/track/goch-considerable-variation and These 2 songs are basically the same, doesn't say it's a remix or remaster, it's a completely different name. Figured I'd post here since my soundcloud comment got deleted.
Prana4ever
Why do you call for plagiarism when the same artist made both tracks? Anything am I missing?
Kriestof
a lot of electronic music acts make the same song everytime, only the title changes there are even electronic music labels where all the artists on the roster make the same songs every time

Yea, missing just a few braincells. How would you feel if a band released the same songs every album and called it a new album and charged you twice for the same product? You're misleading people into thinking its a new song by changing the name.

Kriestof
i was only joking about that a lot of songs are generic and sounds the same🙂 but allmost everybody uses ideas of another person in music, that's normal, that's evolution but this case of Goch is not plagiarism and is not illegal, an artist can release the same song under other names, since spotify it's happening more and more with acts and bands..the philisophy is that you have a bigger chanche to get attention to you band and recieve revenue, i've read an article about it in a music magazine, strategies to get more listens but on the long term, i think, it's a very stupid strategy

Redo
Thanks for the definition, now look just a bit to the right on that website and find the definition of self-plagiarism. 1 hour ago, Kriestof said: but this case of Goch is not plagiarism and is not illegal, an artist can release the same song under other names, since spotify it's happening more and more with acts and bands..the philisophy is that you have a bigger chanche to get attention to you band and recieve revenue, i've read an article about it in a music magazine, strategies to get more listens Not illegal sure, but how is it not plagiarism? Song's a literal copy-paste. That is wild, in the academic world this would get you into trouble, and in music they encourage it.
Prana4ever
Yeah I listened to both tracks and they are identical, not sure why the guy did that...
the goa constrictor
The first track was absolute shit. The second track was absolute shit. Why would anyone care if this person keeps releasing the same shit with different titles? No one should be listening to this person regardless...
astralprojection
They didn't sound the same to me.. The YouTube track sounded pretty good lots of bass. I just think the music itself is very similar afterall it's forest.
Redo
"The first track was absolute shit. The second track was absolute shit. A few people on this board thought his debut was album of the year. You are right about one thing though, no one should be listening to this guy anymore. "They didn't sound the same to me.. The YouTube track sounded pretty good lots of bass. I just think the music itself is very similar afterall it's forest. " It's the same exact song, skip to around 5 and half minutes and listen to the climax.
Penzoline
The mixing seems different (way thicker bassline on the youtube video) but yeah that is a bit weird how its about the same. Maybe a mistake? Idk. A pretty rare occurence. But plagiarism isn't the word you can use here since its the same artist. On 2/10/2024 at 6:39 PM, the goa constrictor said: The first track was absolute shit. Wild opinions there man. This is really good and thematic forest imo. Goch is actually one of my favourites from forest producers.
