Amtinaoüs - Single Collection

Most of the Classic Goa Trax releases deserve to remain unreleased or be forgotten, but there are some great exceptions like Amtinaoüs - Single Collection. Although I consider myself a collector of most things goa trance, I must say Amtinaoüs music has never really captured my attention, but this collection of their single tracks put their music in a new light. Definitely overlooked.

Yes, Amtinaous are excellent and obscure, but not quite overlooked. Here are the Discogs reviews of the 1996 "YOD" ep on POF records:

Huhh...
As the articles before me, I can say this is the key to answers, what we are try to found every time when listening goa trance. This record is beautiful!
Four tracker gem, with pure goanish elements, magical soundscapes on every single track. But not a regular release.
Bravo!

Surprisingly deep, 4 track gem that will not disappoint any true Goaseur. I missed this one on my first tour of the small Amtinaous catalogue of releases and was very happy I came across this must have release on my second pass. This is contemplative level Goa Trance of the highest quality and is not for the Greatest hits of Goa Trance crowd so if you have time to really listen to this release, you will be rewarded by it's depth, nuance and subtlety. A note of Thanks to the artists who created this gift.

Good quality floaty Goa from France. "Y.O.D." is wonky; lots of little tweaky sounds and clanky percussion moving in and out of a gentle beat, it hovers in the liminal zone between the dance floor and chill area. "Araxia" is squarely in the dance floor with a stumping beat, insistent bassline and shimmering synths. "Organic THC" in the "Imothep Disturbance mix" is a gentle chill out track with Indian flute and tribal percussion - very nice. "Nyamgal" returns to the dance floor, though it is a fairly gentle and trippy track with long textured synth lines verging on drone; an excellent track. A lot of work went into this varied ep and it shows. ~*~

Sorry, friend, I can't agree.

I've been listenning to goa trance since 1995, and I bought the compilations with their first tracks back in the day. Their music is very overlooked. Noone was talking excitedly about an Amtinaous release back then. Neither did I. Their music is only available at seven 1990's compilations. That's not much. Their tracks were released at POF and were never picked up by other independent labels.

There are three EP releases at Discogs.

The first one, which you quouted above has only three reviews, and they are all written after the Amtinaous Single Collections were released. Coincidence? I think not.

The second release, Araxia (Remix) / Trip On Nexus, has five reviews. The oldest of them by Dat Records founder Draeke. Here's what he has to say:

"Wicked duo this one, mostly unknown to the mass of goa trancers, except to some weird collectors like me maybe.."

Their third release has, zero (0) reviews.

I arrest my case. 😅
