Stefan stargate production
So. How can it be that this so called culture is so greedy at times and why is artists that don't really need it join booking agencies?
Anoebis
Its seems stupid (I dont have one myself) but if you are a big artist playing a lot, it is a certainty. Making sure you are picked up, sleep in a nice bed and dont get ripped off afterwards. Yes, all this happened a lot in the past. Managers are the solution for this. So thank the crappy organisers for that! I myself dont have a manager but screen organisations well before saying yes.
Penzoline
I've heard about shitty organizers shafting artists in the past (quite egregiously so), so they end up joining agencies to avoid these situations. Obviously agencies are better at raising prices and upselling (artists are not always good at selling). Of course we end up with a problem of having to deal with extra fee's due to a greedy middle man - but on the other hand they also protect the artists. It's a bit of a lose-win-lose-win situation.
