compressor, maths?

ok, i know a compressor reduce a signal when its over a limit level, thats easy, but for a self instructed, thats not enough...

where can i find a tutorial or who can give me a clue plz?

 

Im also a big ignorant about the music maths...hz, ms, tempo, bpm, frecuency...i mean how can i give a sound a rithmic delay and stuff like that?

 

Any clue will be very usefull...

regarding your second question, it sounds as if you might have a few of the terms confused...i'm not sure what you're trying to ask but if you're talking about effecting a sound that you already have and making it "rhythmic" then try using an envelope to adjust the attack, decay, sustain, release etc of the amplitude (and depending on your synth, filter, pitch etc) and also using an lfo to cycle. good luck
