Guest WpE
Ok, I make music for fun, I dance for fun, I drink for fun, I work for fun my whole damn life is fun. If i go and take my music seriously, then it will become some over produced crap that has no emotion or feeling. I write songs on the spur of the moment, whether it is a 30 second or 30 minute piece. As far as I'm concerned, if this whole contest is based on being "serious" and not having a good time then what's the point?? Haven't you seen the serious sportsmen and women, who get so pissed off for lising?? God, I've lost at so much in my life, stuffed up school, jobs friends, even travelling overseas, but I still had fun, I laugh about it, I haven't caused any serious harm to someone at all, and anything that I waste other peoples cash on I replace. Just have fun.
Guest yantra
i don't see what the problem is, music at is best is made for fun isn't it????? some people may take the track contest a bit too serious, but that's their point... if I had high quality tracks, i think i would send them directly to a label, as many of them are looking for new artists... and trance is all about fun, happiness, love of the music... create your music with a smile on your face, and you've got already the most important part: the soul... the remaining is just a bit of work and money(lots of) to get the right hardware... hey man, what about a funny collab for the contest??? Guest Mike D
yeah, a funny collab wouldb cool, weird samples and melodies, some o th best track sout there so sound like they were made just for the fun of it, not to be taken as the real hardcore goa stuff. If you wanna be serious why enter a "contest" send it to the radio or give it to a dj and label, contests are fun, and while yes it is nice to win, you ain't gonna get far in life with the attitude that winning is everything. Have a chat to a disabled or elderly perdon, they'll set it right for or you "serious" twats hehehe no harm meant, but lighten up and enjoy the music, my mate dj psyduck who plays chill out at a big club, the cage in Melbourne, loved my 1'46" song Bassic 909 stuff. Chill out and relax, you only get life once!!

Guest Clargoa
You people seem to think that good music is enough to get it released on some label? NO, it's not. Or at least not in Europe(and I presume in the US too). You need very good connections, you should have contacts in big labels and know big DJs who could recommend your stuff to labels and @!#$ like that(that has nothing to do with the music). I'm pretty sure all labels get so many demos that they don't have the time to listen to them carefully so a lot of good stuff goes unnoticed and the artists then think they're not good enough. And I think this contest gives those artists a chance because now it's not about the contacts they have but the skill. And I personally don't see any difference between music that's not been made seriously and music that has, I take all music seriously but it doesn't mean I wouldn't enjoy it(as I listen to music for about 12 hours every day, I'm sure I enjoy it at least a little or then I just have mental problems, who knows?). -Clargoa
Guest bugbread
I think some people are missing the point: make music for fun. PLEASE make music for fun. Then, if one of those tunes also happens to be an awesome tune, submit it. PLEASE submit it. But don't submit stuff just for the fun of submitting it. If you know yourself that something doesn't have a chance in hell of winning, and submit it anyway, you're just sucking away valuable free time from the person who has to listen to it. At 1.5 minutes that's not so bad, but if these are graded in any way professionally then there's another minute and a bit for evaluation, and with 10 of you submitting tracks like that for fun someone has had to give away a half hour of their life to listen and review it without pay. If it's a person's pay job, that's cool, but to suck away a volunteer's time "for fun" is considerably less cool.
