Guest Eshanti Brahman
Hi there! I hope I am one of many people that are spellbound by Posfords magic touch on the voice samples. I am just curious about what programs /equipment he uses to record and produce those crazy sounds like in Shpongle or in Halluciongen tracks. I've heard that he "programs" the voice on computer, like he writes it down step by step and then goes crazy with it. I am not sure but I would really like to find out what he does to create those magical moments. Hope you understand what I am talking about :-) oh well........ Guest 'CiD
nobody knows. It just posford magik. I dont think you could resemble it if you tried... I've tried many times but i just end up saying '*$" this and walk away cause it sounds like crap. Maybe one day i'll master it. go to the hallucinogen website... http://orphicthrench.webhop.net/ Somewhere in the 'Studio' section he's got an equiptment list. Most Psy bands are afraid to tell people what they use cause they think their gonna steal their sounds but posford knows no one can do what he does so i dont think he thinks twice! Goodluck. Guest DJ Assasin
I'm not sure if this helps but I have a program by sonicfoundry called VoiceFx and with a little work you could duplicate or even create the ideas you mention. Guest damion
He uses a program on mac called Vocalwriter, as far as I know there's no PC version yet, the closest thing I have found is AnalogX "SayIt" which is worth messing about on but a bit weak. Vocalwriter is behind the "dee emm tee ell ess dee" on divine moments and also used on his side project clubbier trance stuff.

Guest OA
neither do i, But Simon definetly used VocalWriter for "Star Shpongled Banner"
Guest schism
i used to have a similar program for pc, not the one by analog x, and it was really good...but i don't use that stuff. if you listen to his music, a lot of his speech samples are put through a ring modulator such as the one at the beginning of gamma goblins...simple trick that works well. Guest schism
i should clarify...i mean on the speech samples at the beginning of gamma goblins 2 from tld...that and there are so many ways to get the same sound, could be a combination of other things but that's how i've recreated it. cya
Guest didge
Thanks Elysium Project! It is so childish of me, but my eyes light up when someone says "its only available for the mac" cause there is so much only available for the pc

You won't find anything even close to these in software yet, and they will run you at least $3000 US.. Start saving!

Guest CrusadeR
Elysnium.. Liquid dub connection track on Life is... compilation is AMAZING.. i love the piano part, did u use sound fonts ? or live recorded piano ? or sampled from keyboard ?.. does somebody know where can i find GOOOD sound fonts. p.s. about the voice, use voice sample, time strech it in SoundForge, put it into Reason, and delay it, save it, and saved with the delay delay again.. then reverb it to maximum, 2x times.. and u have a perfect LOW LOW LOW thunder ))). it all depends of the sample
Guest aRCH-ViLe
For all non-Macsters!!!!!! http://www.bell-labs.com/project/tts/voices-java.html Assign Winamp to play the synthesized voice (wav), then press Alt-3 and copy the full path to the soundfile (just mark it with the mouse and press CTRL-C). Then you can easily track down the stored wave-file in the Temporary Internet Files. Now everyone has their own online Vocalwriter, independent of platform! Just mess around with the synthesized voice in Cool Edit Pro or Sound Forge until it becomes truly good. You can get some real evil voice FX ala Gamma Goblins 2 or Chucky the psycho-doll by adjusting "Breathiness" to 10 or higher.
Guest Elysium Project
Hi CrusadeR. I played the piano myself.... I always do that....... Thats the way I like it :-) Most of my music (except for samples) are played by my hands .-)
